On the Home Page of StoryBook Creator Plus, click on the "My Stuff" icon in the upper left hand corner of the screen.
In the new screen that appears, click on "Files". Next, click on "New Collection". Name the collection (whatever you would like to call it) and the click "Okay". I name mine like this, "Dawn's Sports", "Dawn's Paper Items", Dawn's Christmas", etc. Using your name prior to each category is helpful, because they will all appear together alphabetically in your Embellishment Drop Down Screen. This makes them simple to find.
Next, back on your StoryBook page, RIGHT click on the item that you want to save. Choose "Save as". You will see that it has defaulted to a PNG file. Choose the place that you want to send it, for example, a desktop folder. You can send it wherever YOU will remember how to get to it!
Go back to the Home Page of StoryBook Creator Plus and click on the "my Stuff" icon again. Click on the COLLECTION that you want to add your embellishment to, then click on "Content". Next, click on "Add Embellishment". Browse to the location that you sent your PNG file. Click on that folder. When it opens, and you see your PNG file, click on your PNG file and choose, "Get Selected Embellishments".
Your PNG file will go into that Collection. Next time you are in StoryBook Creator Plus, when you scroll through your dropdown screen in your Embellishments, you will see your new options!
I've tried your directions for adding these new embelishments. For some reason I keep getting the black background on each of these embellishments and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Please help!

Hmm. That's odd.
So, are you having trouble downloading the actual embellishment, or adding it to your own embellishments file?
I haven't heard of this issue - when you click to bring up the high resolution version of the file, then right click on it to save it, what happens?

Note the directions: Sometimes all you will get is a black background. Still right click and save as... it will show up in your folder.

I'm having trouble....I have saved it and imported it into my content collection, but when I click on "add to page" I get an error message saying it could not find part of the path.

My images are saved in my content at StoryBook Creator Plus. However they are black background. They are a bitmap image, not PNG. Is this my problem?

Erin,
I think you need to delete the item and repeat the downloading process of the png file again to your Scrapbooking Stuff. Sometimes the item does not completing load correctly for whatever the reason.

Thank you. After watching your recorded sessions on how to save things, this was pretty easy. I just saw all the egg pictures today on facebook, so am happy to get them.

Does this only work with StoryBook Creator Plus? Because I have StoryBook Creator 2 and I can't figure out how to do this...

ok, I may be an idiot, but I have downloaded the free ping files, but can't figure out how to fill the puzzle pieces - I apologize if this has already been discussed...can somebody help?

I'm having the same problem - when I right click - I get "save picture as" and not "save as' and it wants to save it as bitmap file and not a png file. However, when I downloaded the freebies last week, I did not have this problem - that are all showing up without the black background in My Scrapbooking Stuff. I'm doing the same thing as before but for some reason it won't save it as png file. Any suggestions?? thanks

I am having the problem with the black not going away. I can only - save picture as - I only have the option to save as Bitmap not a png. I am using Vista.. A friend had a few on her computer so I saved to a stick and downloaded the ones she had into my storybook. Is is Vista that is the problem?

No, I have Windows XP and it's coming in to me as a bitmap file also with black background. I hope some computer wizard out there will tell us what we need to do to get the bling!

I too am having the same problem with the bitmap instead of png file. The only thing I could think to do is right click on the embelishment and click on save target as... that way it saves as a png file. But then that means I'm not getting the high resolution. I don't know how much of a diffrence it will make since I haven't tried it out in SBC yet. Someone, please HELP!!!

I'm not sure what the issue is - I have vista here at home, and i have successfully downloaded each of the freebies myself, imported them into StoryBook Creator Plus, and they come in just fine.
Is it a certain embellishment?
Embellishments by a certain person?
Can you specifically tell me which ones you're having issues with? And if you've had others that you've downloaded successfully, let me know which those were.
I'm not certain what's going on with these - the issue seems to be very intermittent.
Last question - when you bring up the high res version, then right click - the only option you get is .bmp and you don't have any options to change that?
