I have had exactly the same problem with the background being black. I have tried on several embellishments w/ the same outcome. Please help!
Thanks.

I want to echo all the woes above. I also have tried to download several of the freebies (heritage flowers, spring tree, etc.). When I right click on the high-res version, the only option is to save as a .bmp . One time I tried to manually type in .png . It was available in the other .png pictures to save as an embellishment in SC+, but had the black background. I tried to add it to a page, just to see if the black would go away, and it did not. Any suggestions?

Can you please let us know what browsers you are using?

You will have issues if you are trying to download the freebies use AOL explorer... you will need to try Internet Explorer if that is the case. Several instances of this have been resolved that way - as stated in our FAQs. If you are using something other than AOL, we will need to know that information before we can further diagnose what may be going on in these cases.

Jenny Dammann

Yes, Carly - you can not import the freebies using only StoryBook Creator 2. You need to have Plus to use the freebies.

Hi everyone.
We have figured out what the problem could potentially be. You likely have an older version of Internet Explorer.. and you'll need to do a quick download of a newer version.
Please see this post for further info:

I don't know about everybody else. But the only ones I had trouble with were the musical note embellishments.

Have you moused around inside the black area until a hand icon appears? I found that the opaque nature of the embellishment made it invisible. This made me have to look for it. If there are more questions, there is a blog attached to my sig wher you can ask more.

I think that for a PNG file to work -- it needs tobe created in a program that has layers and save only the image layer so that the background is blank and empty. White images are often put on a black background so they show up, however, I have never had one of these download and work properly, no matter the source. Unfortunately, I don't use Adobe products for my graphics work and the program does not have a layer capability. However, this image saves as a .png but is almost all black except for a small amount of gray edging of the flourish. It's not as good of quality -- but I did a screen capture and copied the clipboard into the graphics program, used the mask feature to remove the black background from around the flourish and then saved the flourish by itself as a .png file. Haven't tried using it yet in Storybook Creator, but will add it and try. If this works, I'll post back ...

oh well -- it didn't work. Like I said, I need to have the "layer" capability for it to work.

However, I did find out that the star at the top of the flourish is missing the outer tip of hte point and the bottom "line" (sorry, can't think of a better word for it) is missing its termination as a swirl or whatever, it just cuts off and doesn't have the shadow there so I think it somehow got cut short in the upload process.

The image is totally black except for the gray shadow when looked at in anything other than SBC -- and even there, in the menu to choose it to use, it is totally white and blends in to the box completely. It DOES import and work, though in SBC.

I also get save as picture. I do this under scrapbooking stuff in the creative memories file in my documents. Then I open SBC+ and open my stuff. I click add embellishment to an already existing collection or a newly created one. I have had no trouble with this method.

I have saved papers and embellishments twice with everything appearing to go correctly. They show up in Storybook Plus at first under the names I've given them however when I go back at a later date they are completely gone. They won't stay in my list, but they are still on my computer where I saved them to begin with. Any idea why this is happening?

Does anyone know how to add fonts to the storybook creator plus software if your computer runs on Vista?I can't seem to locate a set of directions. The webinar stated to go to facebook but I can't find it their either.

I too and having a bitmap instead of png files. I too did it fine last week. I have no option to change it. Help! (Thanks)

I added embellishments in my stuff, but I can not drag them onto a page. It show a circle with a line through it.
