Here's a How To Video or if you prefer, Here are some step by step instructions.
- From the Welcome screen click on the Manage my content Icon.
- The Content Ribbon displays.
- Select the folder where the new content will be stored.
- Next create a new package in the folder to import your content to.
Packages
You can create your own personal library of favorite elements, including papers, embellishments, shapes, edges, corners and colors. You can save free art, art you personally created, or single elements saved from your projects or created elsewhere. All of your saved and created items need to be stored in a package.
To create a new package, click Create on the Content panel. Then from the pop-up menu, select Create user content package. The Create a new package dialog displays. Enter a name for your new package and choose a folder to put it in. Your new package is now displayed under the My Stuff folder. To import items into your new package click on it then select the embellishments Icon in the Get from file section. The Get Images from folders dialog box displays. Browse to the appropriate folder. Next select the images you wish to import. For this example we are choosing two images and will then click on Get selected images. The images are now imported and display in the Content manager section ready for you to use.
Hope this helps!
Thank you for these instructions. Would you also be able to post instructions on how to take a .jpg image and turn it into the proper format (.png I think) to use the image as an embellishment in SBC+3? I thought that had information had appeared in Digital Tips a few months ago, but I cannot find it.
Thanks.

You can change almost anything using Paint. Just open the file in Paint and save it with the extension of your choice.

I also was looking for the tutorial, perhaps by Dawn Oldham, that explained how to use the wand to remove background and then save the remaining object as a png file for a custom embellishment. Can anyone point me to the correct link?

what if i want to add items later so that a "package" contains more than one or two items? When I tried, I got a message that told me I had to use a new folder -- thereby making a new package. I may want to use the daily downloads right away and not wait until I have more than one item to create a new package, how do I add to a package later?

I've saved the overlay and put in on a page that I created in my 8.5 X 11 story book. But when I try to expand the overlay to fit the page, it only increases in size proportional to the original dimensions. I can't make it fit onto the page. How do I just make one side longer?

Re: how to add an element later to a package you've created:
Click on the package you want to add it to. THen click on the appropriate item i.e. paper, or embellishment, etc. in the ribbon above. Find the item on your hard drive, select it, and click Get Images. Voila!

In response to Bonnie's question above - Regarding changing the overlay to fit a non-square page - you will have to right-click on the overlay, go to Aspect Ratio and select Unlock Aspect Ratio. Be aware that when you do this, you will distort the overlay. That will be okay for some items, but won't work for everything.

Are there problems adding content to my stuff with windows 7? I cannot do it!

In response to Bonnie; trying to make one side larger, hold the shift button while left click and using the mouse. I had the same question, til someone did it on the Calendar webinar! Thanks CM for all your assistance!

Did anybody know the answer to Jack's question of 9/26/09 about Dawn's tutorial on using the wand? I've been looking for that and can't find it.

How do I save a shape that I've created in the shape portion of content manager (or corner, color, etc)
I can easily save into embellishment file but seem to not get the correct combination to save anything other than pages or embellishmens.
If this has been addressed before, feel free to just direct me to a link.
Thanks!

I am so frustrated! I have downloaded a ton of freebies, but everything since October/September won't work when I try and insert it into a page. I just get this weird box. I can see the png file in my content manager and when I click on insert, and then either from file or from content manager the embellishment is there, but when I insert it, all I get is this little box. And I mean LITTLE, when I try and enlarge it, it becomes just a blur of color. What is happening?

I had tons of trouble also.
In SB3 open content, 1st use the "Create button" create NEW FOLDER, I named mine My Stuff. From the ribbon "Get from file" Click on embellishment.(You need to find where the download went. I created an additional folder and organized them in there.)Click on the folder with your Freebies in it. You should then be able to select one or all images. Good Luck
