Here's a How To Video or if you prefer, Here are some step by step instructions.
- From the Welcome screen click on the Manage my content Icon.
- The Content Ribbon displays.
- Select the folder where the new content will be stored.
- Next create a new package in the folder to import your content to.
Packages
You can create your own personal library of favorite elements, including papers, embellishments, shapes, edges, corners and colors. You can save free art, art you personally created, or single elements saved from your projects or created elsewhere. All of your saved and created items need to be stored in a package.
To create a new package, click Create on the Content panel. Then from the pop-up menu, select Create user content package. The Create a new package dialog displays. Enter a name for your new package and choose a folder to put it in. Your new package is now displayed under the My Stuff folder. To import items into your new package click on it then select the embellishments Icon in the Get from file section. The Get Images from folders dialog box displays. Browse to the appropriate folder. Next select the images you wish to import. For this example we are choosing two images and will then click on Get selected images. The images are now imported and display in the Content manager section ready for you to use.
Hope this helps!
I have saved the freebies into a package correctly, but when I try to add the embellishment onto my page, the image is tiny. When I drap the corner to enlarge, I get the ! error. HELP!!

Ok...have been downloading freebies for a year. Now suddenly there are several showing up on the freebies pages that are saving as bitmap files (bmp.) and they are saving WITH the black background when they show up in SBC+3.0. What's up? How can I fix it? I've tried actually saving the bmp. files as png. files, but it doesn't work. Thoughts? Fixes?

I, too, am having a problem downloading the freebies. Just last week, I was able to save the freebies as a png file. I went back to see what would happen if I tried downloading ones I had gotten before. Now, they are showing up as bmp files! I checked also to see what version I had of Internet Explorer and it was version 8. Please help!

I just spent over 40 minutes on the phone with Tech Support - AND THEY HAVE NO ANSWERS to why there is a problem. Evidentally no one had called to let them know there are problems, and they are not reading our posts on this website. They took my name and cell number and will "get back to me in a few days." I will post if I hear anything . . .
The good news - we are all doing things correctly!

I thought I was going crazy last night, I'm glad I finally found this. I, too, cannot get my images to save as PNG files, only as bitmap files. When I follow the steps to bring them in to SBC 3.0, all I get is a black rectangle instead of the puzzle piece I really want to use. As soon as any one has an answer please post it. Thanks!

Hello, There were changes made by internet explorer regarding image downloading and defaulting to bitmaps instead of pngs, as a solution we've provided a zip file for download under the download instructions next to the freebie image for 2010 freebies. The other solution is to download a different browser, google chrome and firefox seems to still be working perfectly, hope this helps :)

So now that I just spent over an hour downloading a bunch of the freebies, and after reading this thread/blog I've realized that 90% of the are bnp (I don't know what that means, but they are) and only a few of them are png.
The "ADD" directions were not completely clear, but thanks to you all I finally figured it out.
I added a bnp embellishment and, yep, black behind it. I added a png overlay and it came through fine. (whew) I experimented with opening a bnp file and resave it as a png. But when I tried to download it to SBC it downloaded three of the figures and when I tried to put them in a page they had the black like the bnp.
Does that mean I have to delete the bnp things I've downloaded and start over?!!! (I've been up almost all night messing with this!!!)
HELP.......

P.S. I tried going back to the Freebies and clicking on one and trying to choose to save it as a png, but it would not give me that option..... ?????

Hey! Question, when I download the free overlays and try to use them in my scrap booking the little yellow triangle comes up when i stretch it to a 12 by 12. Are they only meant for a certain size page?
Thanks!

I followed the directions, but when I open the folder, the entire thing is BLACK....
Any suggestions?
This is all so hard!!!

Hey Everyone, The reason they have a black background, is most likely because you are using Internet Explorer and you are now unable to download these as .png's they default to .bmp files for more details on this issue, see the text next to each freebie. Hope this helps :)

I'm pretty tech saavy, but a lot of the freebies I try to add to SBC 3.0 have the black background that is supposedly supposed to disappear when they are uploaded to SBC 3.0 (the black is still there). Frustrated. I don't have a whole lot of time to play around with it. Help?

I was just wondering why the embellishment doesn't show up when I put it on to the page - all I get is the black box and can't see the embellishment.
