- StoryBook Creator Plus 3 Software
- Jewel Vacation Digital Additions
- Digital Overlays – Swirls
- Shapes – Geometric
- Fonts Used - Perpetua Titling MT, Base 02
How to Create:
- Create a new 12 x 12 page.
- Using the Geometric Shapes, create a black rectangle and size to fit page. (turn off layer for now, click eye on layer in Elements column on left side of screen. Working on a black background can be difficult; this will make it easier to see while you are working on the page)
- Add an Empty Photo Frame to page. Click on Insert Tab top of screen, Empty frame under Photos. Size photo box to 1.25” x 4.25”. Copy, Paste four times (Right click on photo box > copy. Click on page > right click > paste.
- Add text box to page, type the letter “I” (font Base 02, size 120). Each letter should be placed in an individual text box. Repeat this for each letter “T”, “A”, “L”, “Y”.
- Using the Alignment Keys (under the Arrange Tab top of screen) line up your photo squares, make evenly spaced and center on page. Top of picture boxes should be at 2” mark.
- Line top of each letter with bottom of each photo box and center letter.
- Add swirl overlay to page. Using cutting tools (Cut & Fill tab top of screen > Custom > cut curved path > cut around shaded area). Cut away pieces of the swirls and place swirls on bottom left side of left photo box and top right side of right photo box.
- Select five photos of your choice from Memory Manager and add to project.
- Next you will need to flatten each individual photo box and letter.Start at left side, Click on Swirls, hold down shift key and continue to click on far left photo box and letter “I”. Click on Arrange Tab, top of screen, click Flatten. Repeat for each photo box and letter. Photo box and “T”, etc.
- Click on Flattened left photo box, go to photos, right click on desired photo, click on fill selected element with this photo. Box will fill with photo. Continue for each photo.
- Turn bottom layer back on (click eye).
- Add “Our Trip” embellishment, make white and opaque to 30%, add text box and center over “Our Trip” and type text, make text white. Add separate text box for date.

Janet.....love this page!! and am trying to copy it. When I flatten the photo box and type together, when I go to put the picture in I only get a small piece of it and not the whole picture anymore. Do you know what I can do to get more of the picture in after its been flattened?
thanks a bunch...

Hi Everyone....
Thank you ALL so very much for your SWEET words!!!!!! They truly mean so much!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kasandra...try cropping your photo down a bit to include more of the portion of the picture you want to include. What I do....is crop pic in MM3 and send to SBC3. Because the photo portion is narrow you will only get part of the picture. Sometimes I re-crop several times to get it just the way I want it when working with small areas. Hope this helps and PLEASE let me know if you have any more questions!!
Have a great day and happy digi scrapping.
Warmest,
Janet

Janet, I love your design and am trying to duplicate it for my Europe album. I am fairly new to digi scrapbooking but so far have followed your directions well. The only thing I am unsure about is the digital swirl you used and how to cut them to fit the design. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I would like to have this please. Terry needs to learn it...

Janet,I LOVE this. I am new to digital scrapbooking, so I decided to try this, hoping to learn from it. I think I have followed the instructions, but when I put the pictures in, they don't show in the swirls or the letters. The swirls and letters are staying black and show only on the white background. I'm pretty sure I am using the same swirl overlay that you used. What am I doing wrong?
