- StoryBook Creator Plus 3 Software
- Natural Beauty Digital Kit
- Digital Embellishments "Grunge Bling" and "Sewing Room Baby Boy"
- Primary High School additions
- Primary Tropical additions
How to create:
- Start with a custom size for this project. I like to see both pages together so use 12 x 24 as the size.
- Drop in paper #8 from the "Natural Beauty" kit twice. Place one paper on each side of the layout. Then group the papers together. Then adjust the hue to the desired "blue" tone.
- Create a text on a path for the dotted circles. First create a circle shape and the fill color to be black. This circle is just a guide and will be deleted after you create the path.
- Select insert text path and click around the circle to create end points. Complete the full circle and edit end points if needed. Then create the path. Click on the path to add text and simply hold down the period key to create dots. Use a font size of about 26 and select the color to be white.
- Once you have your dotted circle you can delete the circle shape created in step 3. Copy and paste the dotted circle and re size each copy to be a little smaller. Create three dotted circles for the center of the page and two for the lower right side of the page.
- Insert 4 Empty frames to the layout. Drag and re size the frames to the desired size and location. Then select format photo and place a white mat around the photo edge. Also format a drop shadow to each photo frame.
- Select and insert desired photos. Change each photo to Black and White if desired.
- Create two circle shapes and move each circle layer to be under the photos. Fill the first circle with paper from the "Primary High School" additions kit. Adjust the hue to a cooler/blue tone. Then fill the second circle with paper from the "Primary Tropical" additions kit. Also adjust the hue to the desired tone. Then format a drop shadow to each circle.
- Add a crown and stars from the "Grunge Bling" embellishments. Re size and move each element to the desired location.
- Add buttons from the "Sewing Room Baby Boy" embellishments kit. I used a brown button and changed the hue to match the colors of the page. Move and re size your buttons.
- Create some birthday candles using the shapes. Create and thin tag shape for the candle. Select a desired color that matches the page. Using the format options add texture to the candle. Now use a tear drop shape as the flame and add a orange and yellow gradient. Group the flame and the candle together and copy and paste the candle. Adjust the hue on the second candle to a different color. Do the same thing with a third candle and so forth. Adjust the size of the candles and group them together.
- Add a title to the page. I used a font called Aharoni, but you can use any font that is large or bold. The size of the font will need to be 76 or larger. Select a desired color and format a drop shadow.
- Add text to you page by selecting the add a text box option.
- Add a small circle for journaling, age or date. Create a white circle and move the layer to be under neath the photo. Add texture to the circle if desired and add text.
- Add any other desired shadows or embellishments and save your file.
Oh I love this, nice job! I wish I had the will power to only add 4 pictures on to my pages!! Curious, how did you do the 2 page spread? Is there an option where you can work on 2 pages at once?

If you create a 12x24 project how do you get them to print in 12x12 books.... shouldn't we just view the double page spread in 3.0. all you have to do is click from side to side to make the page active? I am just a little confused. Please advise.

Lizz - When I start by opening a new project I select the option to create a custom size. Then I put in the dimensions as 12 x 24. I have a wide screen monitor so it's easy for me to see both pages together but on a smaller monitor you may not like how small they appear, it's up to you how you want to create a two page layout. If you don't want to see both together just create each page one at a time.
Tameka - I believe the best way you should do this is group all of the papers and elements on the left side together and do the same for the right side. You will then have two layers, or two pages. While one of the pages is selected right click and "save selection". Browse to find a folder you want to save the page in and save your file as a jpeg. Do the same thing with the second page, save the file with a different name. You will now have two separate pages that are 12 x 12 and can be put in a book for print. Hope that helps, let me know if you are still confused.

Jenny; this double page idea is the best. I have created a few in a wedding album using the back and forth method of view each page individually trying to line things up, this is much much simplier. Thank you for sharing.

I have created a page that is 12 X 24 as suggested, but am unable to save each 12 X 12 section as its own jpg. I am using the Storybook Creator Plus software. What am I missing? Help!!
