Remember Shrinky dinks? Now there are printable shrinky dinks available. I decided to make some charm bracelets using some fab girly kits from Creative Memories. If you don't have jewelrly making supplies this project may not be ideal for you but there are so many other gift ideas you can create using the shrinky dinks and Creative Memories digital products, such as magnets, pins, zipper pulls, frames, ornaments etc.
Ingredients:
- StoryBook Creator Plus 3.0 Digital Software
- Delight Fashion Diva Digital addition
- Delight Shopper Diva Digital addition
- Diva Bling Digital Embelishments
- Natural Beauty Digital kit
- Any Printable Shrinky Dink product
- Jewelry supplies, beads etc.
How to create:
1. Create a new 8.5" x 11" landscape project.
2. Simply insert any desired embelishments from the kits listed above. The shrink ratio is 1/3 the size of the printed image. So make sure to resize your embellishments to be about 2" to 2.5".
3. Follow the complete instructions on your Shrinky Dink product for printing and baking. Make sure you punch holes in your embellishments so you can hook them onto your bracelet.
4. Once you have baked and cooled your charms coat them with clear nail polish to give them a glossy/finished look.
Again, this project is not for everyone, especially if you don't have the supplies to make jewelry. I did want to show you the many possibilities that your digital kits have when it comes to making Christmas gifts. Please let me know if you have any questions about this project. Have fun!
Oh my gosh these are COMPLETELY adorable! I love them Miss Jenny B!! :)

Love this! I am a jewelry maker and I have been trying to figure out an easier way to produce my own pendants. I was trying to soder two glass plates together but this is so much easier and perfect for customized gifts for kids and all ages. Thank you!

Can I ask where you found the printable shrinky dink sheets??

I bought them at my local craft store "Michaels". Not sure if you have one, but I assume you can find them at most craft stores.

Do you use a regular paper hole puncher for the holes in the charms? OR is there another hole punch size made with something else....thanks for the GREAT idea!!

I use a regular hole puncher. When it shrinks the hole becomes a lot smaller than you would think but it works out just perfect.

Did you use your printer to print on the shrinky dink paper then just cut them out to bake?
So using printer ink was fine?
thanks,

lmckay- Yes, I used my ink jet printer and then cut out each item before I baked them. You need to buy the shrinky dink paper that is specifically for printing, they have both kinds. Your printed item needs to be about three times the size you want it, that is how much it will shrink when baked.

Everybody’s got something they had to leave behind One regret from yesterday that just seems to grow with time. There’s no use looking back or wondering How it could be now or might have been.
