These are adorable! Is there a way to make the colorful, while still keeping the cute detail? I am still very new to SBC and haven't figured out how to change the color of embellishments. Any tips would be awesome! :)

Will there be a universal format for these freebies since the MAC software is being discontinued?

Im not Baptist but it does seem logical that if pelope not from the south misunderstand their ability to participate then perhaps it is time. If baptisms are down however, does that really mean that a name change is going to help? Or is there a deeper issue here? Look at all the denominations in all their localities and see what those statistics are possibly the greater issue is the condition of the nation and the fact that as a whole, the body of Messiah is falling short on the message of God's love, repentence, the need for Messiah. Our nation is growing intolerant of the Message and the God Who Saves as sin runs more and more rampant. I dont think it's an issue about organizational names and titles as much as it is about the fact that as beleivers in Messiah, we're supposed to be more like thermostats and less like thermometers.Just sayin.

Personally, I would welcome a name chgane. Having explained on numerous occasions to folks who've logically questioned, I'm not from the south, can I attend your church? I see nothing wrong with re-branding our convention to jibe with a more global/international flavor. However, practically speaking, I don't see how this will solve the decline of baptisms, church membership, and all around influence of the SBC. I for one have grown weary of toeing the denominational line at the expense of the Commission to go and make disciples.Have a great day!Clay

I really adrime the depth of field that Millier Dickinson Blais has demonstrated in its starter position. Being and accelerator in a typically post industrial oriented profession is not an easy place to be. It requires a lot of energy, tenacity and responsibility for carving and path finding a new direction for economic development. I enjoy your communications and congratulations on making the Top Fifty. All the BestFrom out here, on the Pacific Frontier.

Great post. As a pastor of a small chucrh (less than 100 in attendance) and having spent about 95% of my 30 yrs of ministry in chucrhes of less than 150 (I served as a Minister of Education, Youth, Music of a chucrh that averaged around 150) I agree. with your conclusion . Perhaps less attention given to numbers as a theologically defined indication of spiritual health might be the answer for a convention of chucrhes struggling to come to terms with the cultural shifts at work in the United States. I have agitated for years at an associational and state (Northwest Baptist Convention) level to redefine a healthy chucrh. Our addiction to #'s is dangerous and continues to tie us to a business model that uses numbers and percentage growth as THE definition of success (i.e. when was the last time a pastor of a chucrh running less than 146 was even thought of when it came time for nominations for SBC President or most of our state convention presidencies?)So, to the point- I believe there are ways we can develop to measure health and effectiveness that emphasize the ministry and presence of a chucrh in a community rather than relying on numbers alone. Thanks for all you write thanks to Micah Fries for pointing me in your direction!Steve

Judging from the express reetrvasion of the IPTV AT T network, I bet we'll see a dispute about whether fiber is included. First would fiber be included as part of wireline Internet access when the FCC has made a copper/glass and legacy/new field distinction? Second why would AT T expressly take Uverse/IPTV networks off the table if they didn't think they were safeguarding fiber? Third what difference does it make when the FCC has abdicated any responsibility for oversight of information networks beyond CALEA and E911?AT T has a conditional net neutrality commitment from the IXP closest to the end user onward to the enduser. So it has no net neutrality responsibility upstream and may have offer superior QOS guarantees such that Content Provider A's bits always get to the IXP on better than best efforts terms. That may not trouble me, but going to the point about the scope of AT T's commitment, I'm not sure they have offered much, particularly since AT T probably will self provision to the closest IXP and may do so onward.

Thank you for The competence faoctr (August 19). It seems that many times our pastors want to steer clear of most social issues, other than to preach against their evils. If Christians do not clearly oppose the politicians and laws that constantly encroach upon the freedoms our forefathers fought for even to the shedding of blood, we soon will become America, Sweet Land of Past Liberty . The forefathers brought glory to God as they founded this great land. We must not fall prey to the fallacy that somehow fighting once more for a God fearing country is only done by that dreaded hard right element', May God continue to cause Christian people to stand up for God in standing for a righteous land.
