Ingredients (Canada):

How to Create:

  1. Open a new 8x8 project and choose the Cover. Add the brown patterned paper from the Day to Day kit. Re-size and position as shown.
  2. Insert the photo. Use the Format Photo tools to create a mat and fill it with the teal paper from the Cottage Garden kit.
  3. Now create the scallops. Insert an Open Ellipse from the Geometric kit – use Insert > Shape >> From Content Library. Fill the ellipse with the teal paper from the Cottage Garden kit.
  4. Resize the ellipse to the size shown. Copy and paste it until you have enough to line the top of the brown paper. Position the ellipses in a row and use the Arrange tools to evenly space them and make them even.
  5. Select all of the ellipse and right click > Grouping > Group. Now copy and paste the scallops and use the Arrange tools to flip it vertically. Place the second scallops at the bottom of the brown paper. Make sure the paper is above the scalloped edges in your layers.
  6. Insert the hearts from the Day to Day digital kit and position as shown.
  7. Use the Insert > Fancy tool to add the word “family.” Make sure the Simple alpha is selected. Color it white and position it as shown. Repeat and create the “2009.” Fill it with the teal paper from the Cottage Garden kit.
  8. Now make the season embellishments. Insert the umbrella, sun, leaves, and snowflake from the Day to Day kit. Use the Arrange tools to line them up. Select all of them and group them together by right-clicking and choosing Grouping > Group. Re-size the element so that the seasonal symbols are small enough to fit under the elements already on the layout.
  9. Now insert the season words from the same kit. Align them and group them as you did above. Re-size them to fit under the seasonal symbols. You may need to ungroup things and individually align some elements.
  10. When you are finished with the alignment and positioning, group all of the pieces together and right click > Flatten. Fill the flattened embellishment with the teal paper from the Cottage Garden kit.
