Ingredients (Canada):

How to Create Page 1:

  1. Start with a new 12x12 digital project.
  2. Drop Paper 15 in Background – To Lighten shade go up to your Color Ribbon – locate Curves and drag the Curve of the color up toward to top left corner and the color with lighten!  Add the Simply Beautiful Stripes ribbon as shown.
  3. Add tags from the Simply Beautiful PP and cut the center out (Cut and Fill Ribbon).  Place the Spring Showers embellishment inside each pink and orange tag as shown and place under photos as shown.  For the Large Photo Frame do the same with the Pink Tag and then on the very inside - create an “Open Elipse” found in Geometric Shapes.  Enlarge it and fill it with Paper 15 from Simply Beautiful and then apply the 3D filter to it Place as shown on top of your photo!
  4. All of the vines were created with pieces cut from the “Flower 1” embellishment in the Surfer Girl Digital Addition and from the“Sweet Simple Spring” embellishment found in the Simply Beautiful Spring Addition.  I cut out one from each and then either enlarged or reduced the sizes of them – rotated their position (use the rotate tools found the Arrange Ribbon for fast and simple rotations).
  5. Now dress up the vines with Flowers found in the Simply Beautiful PP.  Place the tags inside the center of some flowers (reduce size) to add some color as shown here (if you do not want the little eyelet hole to show on the tag just zoom up on your tag (bottom left corner zoom slider) use a tiny circle cutter (Cut and Fill Ribbon to copy a piece of the tag and then place over the hole – I then flatten them together so they are now one).
  6. Lastly I added the Distressed overlay from the NYC Celebration 2010 digital kit Around the four photos.  Change the color to white and cut in half as shown.  If you do not have this kit as it was a limited edition piece… one way you can emulate it is to either use another overlay you may have in your collection or create your own overlay - See tip below!
  7. TIP:   To create a distressed overlay add one of the Simply Beautiful papers to your page (be sure it is a solid color paper rather than one with a print) Then with a click of your wand tool (find in Cut and Fill Ribbon) on the color in the center of your paper (be it pink – green – blue etc) click on it and then select – erase.  You will erase the color and leave the white distressed trim behind – voila – you now have your overlay! J  If there are traces of the color still remaining – you may need to reset your sensitivity and intensity levels lower – if you still have color  left in the overlay just simply go up to your Cut and Fill Ribbon and fill it with white – then you can drop the Opacity in the Format Ribbon so it doesn’t look quite as harsh!
  8. Lastly place the Pink Tag and the Capture the moment Tag in the center of your four photos!

How to Create Page 2:

  1. Drop Paper 15 in Background – To Lighten shade go up to your Color Ribbon – locate Curves and drag the Curve of the color up toward to top left corner and the color with lighten!  Add the Simply Beautiful Stripes ribbon as shown.
  2.  Group the Large photo Frame (From Layout 1 - tag, photo etc) together - Copy it – Flatten it - and then cut a portion to be placed on this side of the layout as shown.
  3. (Note:  If you group it & copy from your original you can then flatten it (without having to flatten the original).  This way everything is still moveable and editable on the original – if you flatten your original you CANNOT un-flatten because all the layers will then become one).
  4. Copy and Paste your vines and flowers from the opposite layout enlarge - rotate and place a shown
  5. The Photo has some fun filters applied to it – I first went to the Format Photos Ribbon – under frames – cutouts – select soft edge.  Now go to Filters in the Format Ribbon – Select Soften Edge – Soften quite substantially.  Now apply the Diffuse Glow to the photo (you may need to adjust the sliders to achieve your desired look).
  6. I also placed a vine on the far right side enlarged it and hid it behind the photo as shown.
  7. Add Text in Bud Easy and wrap around the embellishment with the text wrap feature.  (to learn more about this great feature click on the “?” on the far right top corner and type the words “text wrapping” to learn how to use)!
