Vintage Anniversary 4xD Scrapbooking Card Idea

Vintage Anniversary 4xD Scrapbooking Card Idea

Designed By: Denna de Motta

Ingredients:

Ingredients (Canada):

How to Create:

  1. Open a blank 4xD accordion 3 panel project.
  2. First Page:  click on View Panel 1 to see where panel one will be, then add light blue-gray paper 10 as a background (but don’t click “make background”).  For panel 2 add yellow paper 4 and for panel 3 add the same paper 10 again, making sure the sides line up when you check under the View ribbon and the trimmed view and panels view.
  3. To make the clusters:  from mainly the Vintage Sewing Room Embellishments, add any that you like, I used mostly the silver button, grey button, purple flourish 6, yellow ribbon tie, lace ribbon tie, metal butterfly, yellow flyer 9, cream rosette, feather 15,  leaf branch 13, stitching flourish 25.  Resize everything so it’s quite small, then start grouping them together.  The leaf branch was recolored  with a color wash, sampled from the blue in the photo.  Copy and paste to have 2 leaves.  Add 3 rosettes, making one slightly larger than the others.  Flip the purple flourish 6 on it’s side and place at the back of the cluster.  Give everything shadows.  I made 2 main clusters on the first panel, grouped them, then copied and pasted them onto the other panels, then on each panel I would ungroup them and change them a bit.
  4. For oval photo frames:  For panel 1, insert an empty photo frame, make a landscape size, then go to Format Photos>Frames>mat and select an ellipse shape for the cutout, this will create an oval shape.  Then change mat fill and instead of selecting a color, select the opacity and make it totally transparent (slider to the far left).  This will give you an oval photo frame.  To mat the photo:  Copy and paste it, and make the copy slightly larger, then align both under Arrangement>Alignment>horizontally and vertically.   The larger oval should be moved to the back, then filled with a paper (yellow one for panel 1 photo).  After filling it with a paper, flatten it and go to Format Photos>touchup.  This will give the impression of an inked edge if you select Darken and a larger brush size, and go lightly around the edge of the oval to darken it a bit.  Give a light shadow to both photo and mat.
  5. Panel one: the last thing for this panel is to add some titles, Love of a Lifetime from Vintage kit and Celebrate from the Reminisce Power Palette (change it to match the color of the Love title).
  6. Panel two:  yellow paper 4 for background, and add overlay 6, fill with a purple sampled from the kit, and lower the opacity, then add overlay 7, fill with white.  This white overlay 7 will be added to each panel, just flipped so they match up in the corners.   Add a text box for invitation, I used Blackadder font.  Change the cluster a bit.
  7. Panel three:  add white overlay 6 to the blue-gray background.  Mat the oval photo with purple paper 9 and darken edges.  Add cluster to side of photo and ungroup and change.  I changed the cream rosettes to pink and the leaves to purple and added the heart clip and change it to pink, too.  (Color>color balance).  Add flourished from  different word arts from Vintage kit (i.e.‘adore’) to back of photo mat.  Add word art Celebrate the Day from Reminisce Power Palette.
  8. Page 2, panel one:  add the “summer time” title/embellishment from the Reminisce P.P.  I traced around the words under Cut&Fill>Cutters>Custom>straight then clicked copy selection and then filled it with the same color as where the words were and then flattened that piece with the original art work...so basically just erased the words!! Then I grabbed “I love you” from Vintage kit, cut them apart, and added them to the bouquet embellishment.  I added some bits from one of the previous clusters to this title.  Then add 2 oval frames and mats.  Add the wordart “inspire” from Reminisce P.P. and cut out the birdie and add 2 to the page, flipping one.
  9. Add the yellow ribbon 1 from the Vintage kit and copy and paste it to each panel on this page, lining them up so there is no space in between, so they extend across the whole page (all 3 panels).
  10. Page 2 panel two:  purple paper 9 as background, white overlay 7, oval photo matted with blue and given burlap surface (Format>surface>small burlap) and darkened edge.  Add cluster and make leaves dark blue.  Add “through the years” title and make white.
  11. Page 2 panel 3:  back ground paper is light blue-gray paper 10, white overlay, yellow ribbon.  Add the pink heart frame from Vintage kit and add a photo (same way as oval mat, but select heart shape).  Add flourishes from Vintage wordarts and add wordart “memories of a lifetime”.  Add text box and a thank you note.  Make the text the same color as the word art.  Then I added a photo, flattened it, then erased the background by cutting it, then in Format Photos>touchup, erasing close to the heads.  Then made it large and lowered the opacity.
  12. Check the edges of the background papers to see that they aren’t overlapping into the next panel!!
