Cut 12" x 2-1/4” strip of Royal Blue cardstock as the base. Cut a 11-1/2" x 2” strip of white paper with black dots and adhere to base.
Cut out 5 graduation hats using the following method: Cut a 6” x 6” square of Royal Blue Cardstock. (It is easier to create diagonal cuts when you have a smaller sheet of paper to work with.) Place one edge of cardstock directly on top of the 30 degree indented line on the 12” Rotary Trimmer. Make one cut. Now move this main piece of paper to the right, and line up the vertical edge to the very edge of the 12” Rotary Trimmer (this is about 1”). Make another cut. Then move the main piece of paper to the right again and line up the vertical edge to the Trimmer’s edge and cut again. Repeat this process again until you have 3 strips of paper. Now flip the strip of cardstock over, and take the top (shorter) edge of the strip and line it up exactly with the right side edge of the trimmer, and make a cut. This will give you a perfect diamond shape! Repeat this process again to make 5 diamond shapes. These serve as the top of the mortarboards.
Punch 5 Royal Blue circles using Circle Maker. Cut about 1/3 of the circle off, and then use All-Purpose Scissors to create the look of the front of the hat (the part that sits above your eyebrows). Attach circles to diamond shapes to create your little mortarboards. Adhere these to the border randomly.
Cut a small piece of Gold Cardstock with wavy blade. Using All-Purpose Scissors, create small “tassels”. Adhere tiny Gold circles that were created with Scallop Circle Maker at the top of each tassel. Attach tassels to top of mortarboards.
Using the Rotary Wavy Blade, cut a 12" x 3/4” strip of Gold Cardstock and adhere, placing motarboards on top and underneath gold strip.
Adhere “Congratulations” sticker.
