Traditional Tuesday Project Idea - April 26, 2011

 

How to create graduation cards:

Achieve Money or Gift Card Holder:

Using Black Cardstock as the base, cut to 8" x 12".  

Using the Rotary Scoring Blade, score at 4", 8" and 10-1/2". 

Position the scored card in front of you so the scores run vertically and the 1-1/2" section is on the right.  Fold the far left section toward the center of the card, on the score line.
 
Fold the far right section in and adhere flat to the next section.

Apply adhesive on the very outsides edges only, and fold in again, creating a pocket for inserting gift card(s) or cash.

Cut a 7-3/4" x 2-1/4" piece of the text pattern and adhere horizontally to the inside front fold of the card.

Apply the "Go Confidently" sticker to a 2-3/4" x 1-1/4" piece of White Cardstock.  Adhere to Black Cardstock and trim, leaving a thin border.  Adhere to the text pattern paper on the inside pocket.

Adhere a 7-3/4" x 3-3/4" piece of text pattern paper to the outside front of the card.

Adhere a 1-1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of White Cardstock to Black Cardstock.  Trim, leaving a thin border.  Adhere to the front of the card, 1/2" from the left edge.
 
Using Foam Squares, apply the cap and book sticker.

Apply the "Achieve" and star stickers, as shown.

Using the Circle Maker, punch a 1-1/4" circle from White Cardstock and a 1-1/2" circle from Black Cardstock.  Adhere these two circles together, a little bit off center.  Apply the "Become" sticker.

Adhere layered circle to the card allowing it to extend beyond the bottom.  Trim off excess.

 

 

Congrats Grad Card:

Using White Cardstock as the base, cut to 8-1/2" x 5-1/2".  Use the Rotary Scoring Blade to score at 4-1/4".  Close card with fold at the left.

Cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of the ruled pattern paper, with the margin at the left.  Adhere to the front of the card.

Adhere a 2-5/8" x 5-1/2" piece of Black Cardstock  1/4" from the right edge.

Adhere a 2-1/2" x 1" piece of the text pattern paper at the top and a 2-1/2" x 3" piece at the bottom of the Black Cardstock.

Apply the Title Sticker to a 2-1/2" x 1-1/4" piece of White Cardstock.  Adhere to the card, as shown.

 

Globe Card:

Using Gray Cardstock as the base, cut to 5-1/2" x 8-1/2".  Use the Scoring Rotary Blade to scor at 4-1/4".  The fold will be at the top.
 
Cut the black word pattern mat to 5-3/8" x 4-1/8".  Adhere to the front of the card.

Open up the card and lay flat on a 12" x 12" Mat.  Using the Medium Circle Pattern (inside of template) and the Red Blade, cut a circle in the front of the card, approx. 1” from the top and 3/4" from the left edge.
 
Adhere a 5-3/8" x 4-1/8" piece of ruled paper to the inside of the card.

Using Foam Squares, adhere the globe sticker on the ruled paper to it's centered in the circle you cut on the front of the card.

Apply the "Well Done! etc..." border sticker to the bottom of the inside of the card.

How to create project:

Use the black patterned paper as the background.

Cut Cranberry Cardstock to measure 10" x 10". Adhere to the background as shown.

Print (2) 4" x 6" photos and (1) 4" x 4" photo. Adhere to layout as shown.

Cut a 4" x 4" piece of ruled white pattern paper and adhere to page, as shown.

Adhere an 11" strip of Paper Ribbon under bottom photo and over ruled paper.

Adhere a Paper Frame on top of a 2" square of Cranberry Cardstock.  Adhere to the center of the photos.

Adhere "hat and books" sticker to square using Foam Squares.

Apply Black Simple ABC/123 Stickers to spell "Graduation" along the side of the photos.

Apply 3 star stickers.

Journal, using a Dual-Tip Black Pen.

How to Create:

Use black and white patterned grid paper as the base for this layout. 

Using Rotary Trimmer, trim white patterned paper to 11-1/4" square.  Adhere to layout.

Cut (to make this cut, use the outer edge of the large circle with the blue blade) a circle from the Gold Cardstock.  Adhere to layout.

Cut corner from Scalloped Decorative Cardstock.

Adhere at an angle over Gold Cardstock circle. 

Cut a piece from the black and white patterned paper to measure 4-1/2"X9".  Adhere to layout.

Adhere strip of Black and White Paper Ribbon at angle along bottom portion of patterned paper to the edges of the white patterned paper. 

Cut 3 photo mats from the Gold Cardstock to measure 4"x2-3/4".  Adhere to layout. 

Print 3 black and white photos to measure 2-1/4"x3-1/2".  Cut 3 photo mats from black and white patterned paper to measure 2-1/2"x3-1/4".  Adhere photos to these mats, and adhere to top of Gold Cardstock Photo Mats with Foam Squares. 

Adhere Black and White Paper Flowers to layout.  Adhere Primary Paper Button with Foam Square on top of Black and White Paper Flowers. 

Using Simple Black Monogram Stickers/Simple Black ABC/123 stickers and place title on layout. 

Adhere Primary Paper Buttons to top of Monogram Stickers using Precision Point Adhesive. 

Use black pen to journal and doodle around outer edges of layout, Gold Cardstock circle, and scalloped Decorative Cardstock.

Black and White Project Idea of the Day-September 14, 2009

This is such a sweet little mini book and just the right size to carry in your purse.

How to create:

Take the large bracket frame and adhere to a piece of Black and White patterned paper and trim out. Adhere this piece to black cardstock and trim out. This will be your cover.

Trace the cover piece onto black cardstock and trim out. This will be your back cover.

The inside pages are made by cutting  black cardstock and Black and White patterned paper with the inside of the large CCS-large circle template, using the red blade.  Adhere the cardstock circles to the Black and White patterned paper.

With a generic hold punch, punch a hole through the cover and pages. Thread through  with a  paper ring made from Black and White Paper Ribbon folded in half.  Use Precision Point Adhesive to keep ring together.  

Adhere a Black and White small circle frame to patterned paper and trim around. Apply a letter from the Black and White Clear Decorative ABC Stickers in the center of the circle frame and adhere to the front cover with a foam square.

Black and White Project Idea of the Day-September 13, 2009

 

How to create:

Use Cactus Flower Decorative Cardstock as the base for this layout. 

On every other "scallop" punch petal using Petal Maker.  Back with Butter Cardstock. 

Using Meadow Micro Maker, punch 8 small flowers from Black Cardstock.  Use Precision Point Adhesive and adhere to center of each petal. 

Cut (to make this cut, use the inside of the Jumbo Circle Pattern and the red blade) circle from black patterned paper.  Adhere to the center of the decorative cardstock. 

Cut strip of Black and White Paper Ribbon to measure 11 inches.  Use All Purpose Scissors and cut "v" into each end of ribbon.  Adhere to the center of the layout. 

Cut (to make this cut, use the inside of the Jumbo Circle Pattern, and the green blade) circle from black and white grid pattern paper.  Adhere to layout. 

Using All Purpose Scissors, cut the Black and White Paper Flowers down to a "heart shape" (2 petals) and adhere to layout to form butterfly. 

Cut small strip of Butter Cardstock 1/4" wide, and crinkle back and forth.  Adhere to center of butterfly. 

Using Scalloped Circle Maker, punch several scalloped circles with holes punched from Black Cardstock.  Use the small punched holes to form the "swirl" below the butterfly.  Adhere with Precision Point Adhesive. 

Use Swirly Black ABC/123 stickers for title. 

Cut a 5 inch square-square from Butter Cardstock.  Use Corner Maker, and round corners. 

Cut a piece measuring 9-1/2"x4-3/4" from black grid patterned paper.  Using Rotary Trimmer and scoring blade, score at 4-3/4".  Fold piece in half, and round each corner using the Corner Maker.  Adhere right side to the Butter Cardstock Square. 

Print 4 photos measuring 2-1/4" square, and adhere to black patterned paper. 

Cut Black and White Paper Frame.  Adhere to left side of photo mat with Precision Point Adhesive. 

Using Circle Maker, punch circle from black and white patterned paper, and adhere to flap behind photos to indicate "open" for journaling.

Adhere piece of white patterned paper measuring 4-1/2" square to the inside for journaling. 

Use black pen to journal, doodle along outer edges of decorative paper, and inside edge of white grid patterned paper.

Black and White Idea of the Day-September 12, 2009

How to Create:

Cut (to make this cut, use the outside of the Jumbo Circle pattern and the blue blade) circle from Taffy Cardstock as the base of this layout. 

Cut (to make this cut, use the outside of the Jumbo Circle Pattern, and the red blade) circle from black grid/floral patterned paper.  Adhere to Taffy Cardstock Circle.

Using Rotary Trimmer with Wavy Blade, cut a strip of Pink Lemonade Cardstock approximately 1/2" wide and adhere across upper portion of layout. 

Using Pink Pen-Pastel Set, "outline" the inside portion of the white floral pattern on the paper. 

Using two Black and White Paper Frames, offset with each other, and adhere to upper left hand side of layout with Foam Squares. 

Place Delight Paper Flower in the center of the frames.  Layer with Black and White Paper Flower, using Foam Square. 

Using Friendship Micro Maker and Butter Cardstock, punch flower.  Adhere to top of Black and White Paper Flower. 

Using Meadow Micro Maker, punch small flower from black and white patterned paper.  Adhere to top of Butter Cardstock flower using Precision Point Adhesive. 

Attach two Delight Paper Flowers on the ends of the top oval frame.  Using Meadow Micro Maker, punch 2 butterflies from Pink Lemonade Cardstock, and adhere to the tops of each flower with the Precision Point Adhesive. 

Using the negative space from the Simple White Monogram Stickers, cut around each letter shape, and place on top of Butter Cardstock.  Use All Purpose Scissors to cut around letter leaving 1/4" border around.  Using the Swirly Black ABC/123 stickers, complete the title. 

Cut (to make this cut, use the Jumbo Circle Pattern and the blue blade) circle strip from Butter Cardstock.  Do not move the Jumbo Circle Pattern.  Use red blade and cut around outer edge of the circle.  Using the All Purpose Scissors, cut circle strip into "sections" and place along outer top, left, and bottom edges of black and white patterned paper. 

Cut 2 photo mats from Pink Lemondae Cardstock measuring 3-1/2"x4-1/2".  Adhere to layout.

Cut 2 photo mats from Butter Cardstock measuring 3-1/4"x4-1/4".  Adhere at an angle on top of Pink Lemonade mats.

Cut 2 photo mats from black and white patterned paper measuring 3"x4".  Adhere to top of Butter Cardstock mats.

Cut 2 photos measuring 2-3/4"x3-3/4".  Adhere to tops of photo mats at an angle with Foam Squares. 

Using Rotary Trimmer and stright blade, cut Black and White Paper Flower in half.  Adhere to right side of photo mats with Foam Squares. 

Use black pen-Basic Set to journal along Butter Cardstock strips, outline the Taffy circle, and dot along inner edge of monogram alphabet.

Black and White Project Idea of the Day-September 11, 2009

How to create:
Take 2 sheets of decorative paper and fold the entire sheet accordion style. Cut both sheets in half so you have 4 folded strips each at 6". While strips are still folded, trim one end of each strip at a diagonal.
 
Attach each of the 4 strips to each other to form a circle. (You will need to keep pushing the center down in order to fit them all together)
 
To add support, attach a sheet of the Storybook paper on the back of the circle.
 
Using the Red Cardstock, cut a circle using the CCS and the medium circle.

Attach the Red cardstock circle under the Black and White paper circle frame as shown.
Punch a scallop from the Red Cardstock; use the dots that are punched out for center of flower.
Layer flowers and attach to center of cardstock.  Attach to the center of circle as shown.

Oriental Napkin Rings
 
 
How to create:
Take the chop sticks and wrap them in the napkin.
 
Using the black and white polka dot paper, trim a 1-3/4" x 3" strip. Using the white pattern paper trim a 3/4" x 3" strip. Center and attach over the top of the black and white pattern paper.
 
Loop strips around napkin to form a ring. Overlap ends a little bit and attach together.
 
Using the Scallop Maker, punch out a scallop circle from the Red Cardstock. Take one of the left over dots from the punch and attach it to the center of the black paper flower.
 
Attach flower on to the right corner of the paper ring as shown.
 
To make several of these rings, just switch up the patterns of the papers.

How to create:
Envelope
Using the 2 pieces of the black with white strips Storybox papers, trim each paper to 5"x 4-1/4". Glue around the outside edges with the Precision Point adhesive and attach to each other to form a pocket.
 
Using the white with black flowers pattern paper, trim a piece to 3"x5". Mount on the front of the black and white stripe pocket.
 
Using the Red Cardstock, trim two 1/8" x 5" strips. Attach to the upper and lower edges of the white pattern paper as shown.
 
Using the Circle Maker, punch out one 1-1/2" circle. Crumple and attach to center of a white flower.
 
Attach white flower to the upper right of pocket as shown.
 
Invite
Using a word processing program, create a rectangle measuring
3" x 6-1/2". Type out your invite and print out on white pattern paper.
Trim the invite to measure 2-3/4" x 6-1/4" .
 
Using the Red Cardstock, trim out a 4" x 7-1/2" rectangle. Center and attach invite over cardstock.
Cut the black and white square paper frame in half. Mount half of the frame over the top of the invite and the other half of the paper frame under the invite as shown.
 
Trim a piece of the black and white pattern paper to 7-3/4"x 4-1/4". Center and mount Red Cardstock over the black and white paper as shown.
 
Using the flourish paper ribbon, trim a 4" strip. Fold in half and attach ends together to form a loop. Attach loop to the top of the back side of the black and white pattern paper as shown.
 
Attach paper flower to upper left of invite as shown. Use 3 left over dots (from previous punched scallop circle) and attach to center of flower.

Black and White Project Idea of the Day-September 10, 2009

Do you need a little "something" to place on your fireplace hearth, or for your desk at work?  This small accordian tag booklet will add the perfect touch! 

How to Create:

Punch 8 tags from the Aquamarine Cardstock, using the Tag Maker. 

Punch 7 large circles using the Circle Maker. 

Using the Rotary Trimmer and the scoring blade, score each circle in half.  Place adhesive on each "half" and attach to the backs of the tags to attach them together. 

Punch 7 tags using the Tag Maker from the Black and White Palette.  Adhere to the tops of the Aquamarine Cardstock tags. 

Embellish your project using photos, Paper Tags, Shape Makers, or Paper Buttons.

Black and White Project Idea of the Day-September 9, 2009

This card will spring to life when removed from its envelope!

How to Create:

Trim a piece of Raspberry Cardstock 10" x 5".

Score at 2-1/2", 5", and mark with a pencil at 7-1/2" inches.

Score on the diagonal from the 7-1/2" inch mark to the 2-1/2"inch crease from the left and right creating an X.

On the top of the cardstock piece, measure in 2-1/2 inches and mark with a pencil. Lightly draw a line from the center of the X to the 2-1/2" inch mark at the top. Cut from the marking at the 7-1/2" to the 2-1/2" inch marking at the top both from the left and right sides creating a point.

Fold all the score lines and fold the X pieces towards the back.

Mat all visible sides with the Black and White Patterned Paper.

Adhere the front tip of the diamond down to the front base.

Cut strips of Raspberry Cardstock 3/16" to fit around the large square black and white frame piece taking care to miter the corners and adhere. Attach the frame piece to the front of the diamond.

Adhere the "Fun" sticker to White Cardstock, trim out and attach to the front of the card with Foam Squares along with layered Black and White flowers.

Black and White Project Idea of the Day-September 8, 2009

How to Create:

Cut white patterned paper to 11 x 7. Adhere on top of black cardstock.

Print three black and white 4x6 photos. Adhere to bottom of black cardstock as shown.

Cut circle arc (to make this cut use the outside of the jumbo circle with blue blade first then without moving the template use the inside of jumbo circle with green blade) from black patterned paper. Cut circle to make arc and adhere to left side of page.

Cut three strips using the grey photo mats and adhere to bottom left side edge of layout. Journal here.

Print one black and white 5x7 photo.

Adhere photo to black photo mat and adhere to layout as shown.

Cut a thin 6" wavy strip from black patterned paper and adhere on top of photo.

Punch scallop circle flower from white patterned paper. Fold in half. Trim sides to make a crown. Add faux stitching with black pen.

Punch scallop circle flower from pink cardstock. Take small circles that are punched out to make scallop circle and adhere them inside the crown with foam squares. Adhere to page.

Add clear title sticker.

Punch scallop circle flower from black patterned paper and a small circle from circle maker from pink cardstock.

Layer punched shapes and pink paper flower with foam squares as shown. Add clear white flower sticker to center and adhere to page.
