Father's Day Scrapbooking Layout - Traditional Tuesday May 22, 2012

How to Create:

1. Start with 12x12 sheet of yellow cardstock as the base of the layout.
2. Using the Cheerful Power Palette, cut a sheet of green patterned paper 11” tall x 10” wide. Use the corner rounder to round the right two corners. Adhere to the yellow cardstock ½” down from the top and ½” from right side. This will leave a ½” border of yellow cardstock on the bottom of the layout and a 1 ½” border of yellow cardstock on the left side.
3. Cut a strip of red/orange/yellow striped patterned paper 12” wide x 2” tall. Adhere across the layout 3” up from the bottom of the layout.
4. Add vertical title above the striped patterned paper next to the green patterned paper in the 1 ½” space of yellow cardstock.
5. Adhere 1 picture (~3”tall x 4 ½” wide) to the right side of the layout over the striped patterned paper.
6. Adhere 2 more pictures (one is 5” tall x 4” wide and the other is ~2 ½” tall x 4 ½” wide)  on the green patterned paper above the striped patterned paper.
7. Use stickers to number the 3 pictures. Add numbered journaling strips below the pictures to correspond to the numbered pictures.
8. Cut the yellow and red tag (in the Cheerful Power Palette) in half. Add one half of the tag to the top of the layout ~1 ½” from the right side of the page. Add the other half of the tag to the bottom of the layout ~1 ½” from the right side of the page. Add stickers to the tags as desired.
9. Add more journaling strips as desired.

How to create layout:

Use Espresso Cardstock as the base for this layout.

Trim red & blue pattern paper to 1-1/4" x 10-3/4".  Adhere to the base, 3/4" from the top, bottom & left edge of page.

Adhere 3” x 10-3/4" strip of tan Rugged paper next to the red & blue strip. Apply the title using White Simple Monogram Stickers along tan strip.

Using the Circle Maker, punch a 1-1/4" circle from the pattern paper.  Adhere to the center of the title. Using Word Processor & AL Script Hand font, print part of the title on a Rugged Storybox. Trim to size & adhere to the middle of the circle, using Foam Squares.

Cut 10-3/4" strip of Rugged Paper Ribbon with stars & adhere to hide seams between the red & blue paper & the title area.

Trim the blue pattern paper to 1-3/4" x 10-3/4", adhere to the right side of page, 3/4" from top, bottom & right edge of base.

Layer two rectangle Rugged Paper Tags together & adhere both to the bottom right side of page.

Create a large photo mat by trimming White Cardstock to 5-3/4" x 11”. Adhere (3) 5-1/2" x 3-1/2" photos to the white mat.  Adhere to the layout, usint Foam Squares.

Using the All-Purpose Scissors, hand-cut a variety of stars from the Discover Make Believe Addition paper & adhere to the layout, using Foam Squares.

Type journaling using Calibri font and print onto White Cardstock.  Adhere to right side of page.

Traditional Tuesday Project Idea - May 24, 2011

How to create layout:

Use a 12" x 12" sheet of  dark gray Rugged Tone-on-Tone paper as the background.

Using the Jumbo Wavy Square (inside of template) and the Red Blade, cut a square from the brown paper.  Using the Jumbo Wavy Square Pattern again, cut a square from the light gray paper using the Blue Blade.  Adhere the light gray paper onto the center of the brown paper, then adhere to the base, 1" from the left edge and 3/4" from the top edge.

Place the "fun" sticker onto the light gray square, approx: 1/2" from the left and top edges.  Adhere a red Paper Frame over the sticker.

Use the Rugged Decorative ABC Stickers to spell the word “Papa” onto green paper.  Adhere a circle Paper Frame centered over the word and trim around, using an All-Purpose Scissors.  Adhere to the top center of the light gray square, using Foam Squares.

Adhere a rectangle Paper Tag to the right of the circle one.  On the second row, adhere another rectangle Paper Tag.

Computer journal using Rough Typewriter font and print on a tan Photo Mat.  Cut into strips and adhere across the rectangle tags.

Apply the red arrow sticker to a tan mat.  Adhere a frame on top and cut around.  Adhere to the right of the tag.

Make a third row with another Rugged Paper Tag.  Using an All-Purpose Scissors, cut the words "Good" and "Life" from the "Life is Good" sticker.  Apply on the tag, as shown. 

Using the computer, print the year on a tan Photo Mat.  Apply the “year” sticker and cut around the sticker.  Adhere a Paper Frame over the sticker and then adhere to the layout.

Cut (2) 10" x 1/4" strips of tan paper.  Cut each end at an angle.  Adhere to the layout, as shown.

Adhere (2) 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" photos printed with White Borders, over-lapped, as shown.

Using the Galaxy Micro Maker, punch 2 red stars and 1 green star.  Adhere randomly onto the layout.

Using the Lovable Mini Pocket Punch, punch hearts from red, green and tan papers.  Place these at the corner of the photos and on the Paper Frames.

How to create layout:

Use the teal pattern paper as the base.

Trim the purple and orange pattern paper to 8” X 8”.  Using the Corner Maker, round the top right and bottom left corners.  Adhere to the base 3/4" from the right edge and 1-1/2" from the bottom edge.

Trim the green script pattern paper to 6” X 6”.  Round the top left and bottom right corner.  Adhere to the layout 2-1/4" from the left edge and 2-3/4" from the bottom edge.

Mat a 6” X 4” photo onto a 6-1/2" x 4-1/2" piece of White Cardstock and adhere it to the center of the layout.

Adhere a 6” piece of blue Paper Ribbon under the bottom edge of the photo.

Apply the “Celebrate this day” sticker to White Cardstock.  Using an All-Purpose Scissors, cut around the sticker.  Using Foam Squares, adhere to the layout as shown.

Using the Reminisce Decorative ABC Stickers, apply the title across the photo.

Layer 3 Reminisce Paper Flowers, using Foam Squares between each one and adhere it at the bottom right of the photo.

Apply two teal and one orange circle flower stickers to White Cardstock.  Cut around each sticker.  Adhere one of the teal stickers to the lower right side of the layered flower.  Adhere the other teal flower to the center of the orange one and adhere to the center of the layered flower.

Cut the blue Paper Frame in half and adhere a half to the right and left side of the photo.

Using the Times New Roman Font, type your journaling and print it on White Cardstock.  Cut into strips and adhere to the layout.

Father's Day Project Idea of the Day - June 19, 2010

How to create layout:

Use Simply Beautiful Tone-on-Tone brown paper for the base.

Cut Cement Cardstock 9" x 10".  Adhere (2) 9" strips of orange Paper Ribbon to the top and bottom of the Cement Cardstock.

Using the Disney Magic Maker, cut several star shapes with dots out of Black Cardstock.  Adhere the larger dots punched out with the stars in rows (use a ruler to keep the rows straight) for the peg board holes.  (This can also be done with a Fine-tip Black Pen.) 

Using the Corner Maker, round the corners of a 3-3/4" x 6" photo.  Adhere half of the photo onto the Cement Cardstock "pegboard", as shown.

Slipping a 4" x 6-1/4" piece of White Cardstock behind the "pegboard", adhere it to the layout, approx. 1/4" from the left edge, using Foam Squares.

Using a computer, journal onto a 3-1/4" x 3-1/2" piece of White Cardstock, round corners and adhere to layout.

Round the corners of a 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" photo.  Mat onto White Cardstock, round corners and adhere to the layout.

Using Simple ABC/123 Stickers (brown) apply the letters to spell "happy Father's day!" onto White Cardstock.  Trim and adhere to layout, adhering a 4-1/2" x 1-1/4" strip of orange paper behind the word Father's.

Use Swirly Monogram Stickers (white) for the year.

Father's Day Project Idea of the Day - June 18, 2010

How to create layout:

Use Primary Designer-Print Paper (green and blue) as the base.  Position the paper so the plaid border is on the left side.

Using the Wavy Rotary Blade on one side, cut a 1-1/4" x 10" strip of Cloud Cardstock.  Adhere it over-lapping the right side edge of the pre-printed border.

Cut a 2" x 10-1/4" strip of the strip pattern paper, using the Wavy Rotary Blade on both long sides.  Adhere to the layout to the left of the Cloud Cardstock, as shown.

Using the CCS Jumbo Circle Pattern (inside of template) and the Red Blade, cut a circle from the green and blue pattern paper.  Distress edges, using your fingernail, and adhere to the layout.

Mat (2) photos onto Cloud Cardstock and adhere to the layout.

Add Paper Tags and Buttons using Foam Squares.

Using the Galaxy Micro Maker, cut tow small green stars and adhere to layout with Foam Squares.

Add journaling strips to a trimmed Paper Tag.

Apply title using Swirly ABC/123 Stickers (black).

Father's Day Project Idea of the Day - June 17, 2010

How to create card:

Using White Cardstock for the base, cut 5-1/2" x 8-1/2".  Score at 4-1/4"

Cute Honeydew Cardstock 5-1/2" x 4-1/4".  Adhere to the front of the card.

Cut Sea Glass Cardstock 5-1/4" x 4".  Adhere to the center of the card.

Using the Circle Maker, cut a 1-1/4" circle and a 1-1/2" circle from Cranberry Cardstock.  Cut each circle in half.

Cut (3) 1/8" x 2" strips of Black Cardstock and (2) 1/8" x 3/4" strips. 

Using the Scallop Circle Maker (with holes), cut a circle from Black Cardstock and one from Cranberry. 

Assemble the grill by placing the smaller half circle under ther larger one.  Adhere.  Arrange the (3) longer black strips into a tri-pod with the shorter ones in between.  Adhere to the grill.  Using the holes that dropped out of the Scallop Circle, adhere a red one on top of the grill and three black ones as wheels.  Use a Fine-tip Black Pen to draw a line along the bottom of the grill cover.  Adhere grill to card.

Using Simple ABC/123 Stickers (black) spell DAD and BBQ.  Use the black pen to finish the title.  Draw dots along the top and bottom of the card.

Create card using:

How to create double layout:

Use Discover Tone-on-Tone Paper for the base of this layout;  red on the left side, brown on the right side.

Using the Tearing Tool, tear a 4-1/4" x 12" strip of red Tone-on-Tone Paper.  Adhere it to the right page, approx. 1/2" from the right edge.

Mat (5) 5-1/4" x 4" photos onto White Cardstock.  Trim, leaving a 1/8" border.  Mat each photo onto a 5-1/2" x 4-1/2" piece of different colors of paper.

Adhere matted photos onto both pages, tucking Discover Paper Frames behind the photos, as shown.

Cut a green Paper Frame in half and adhere half to each side of the double layout, lining them up to meet.

Apply "My Hero" and "Father" title stickers to White Cardstock.  Trim around using an All-Purpose Scissors and adhere to the layout.

Cut (2) 2-1/4" strips of Paper Ribbon.  Cut one end of each ribbon at an angle.  Tuck and adhere the ribbon strips behind the left edge of the bottom, left side photo.

Using a Fine-tip Cocoa Pen, journal of small scraps of White Cardstock.  Over-lap onto a strip of paper and adhere by each photo.

Use Simple Monogram Stickers (white) to spell the title.  Continue the title using Sophisticate ABC/123 Stickers (white), as shown.

Father's Day Project Idea of the Day - June 15, 2010

How to create layout:

Use Cement Cardstock for the base of this layout.

Cut a wavy square from the Discover Designer-Print Paper using the Jumbo Wavy Square Pattern (outside of the template) and the Red Blade.

Adhere in the middle of the cardstock.

Adhere (1) 6" X 4" photo to a Discover Storybox journaling block and trim to 1/8" border around the outside. Adhere to the left side of the page.

Adhere the other 6" x 4" photo to the layout at an angle, using Foam Squares.

Cut a circle from a Discover Storybox, using the Large Circle Pattern (inside of template) and the Blue Blade.  Use this circle to journal on with a Fine-tip Black Pen.

Cut a circle frame from the same paper using the Large Circle Pattern (inside of the template) first using the Blue Blade, then without moving the pattern, using the Red Blade. Adhere the circle frame over the journaling circle.  Adhere to the upper right hand portion of the layout.

Cut three pieces of the Discover Paper Ribbon measuring; 4", 2-1/2" and 2-1/4".  Cut a "v" into one end of each ribbon with an All-Purpose Scissors. Adhere above the photo on the left side of the page.

Adhere a Discover Paper Button to the middle ribbon with a Foam Square.

Apply the date and title with Simple ABC/123 Stickers in Brown.

Father's Day Project Idea of the Day - June 14, 2010

How to create layout:

Use the solid side of the light green paper from the Discover Tone-on-Tone Paper for the base.

Adhere Brown Harvest Decorative Cardstock to the center of the base.

Cut the dotted Designer-Print Paper 10" x 10".  Adhere to the center of the layout.

Using the CCS Jumbo Oval (inside template) and the Red Blade, cut an oval from light blue paper.

Using a Fine-tip Cocoa Pen, doodle, drawing lines around the edge of the oval.  Adhere the oval to the layout.

Adhere large circle brown and green Paper Frames, over-lapping the oval, as shown.

Cut a 9-3/4" strip of Paper Ribbon.  Adhere it to Brown Cardstock and trim, leaving a thin border.  Adhere to the layout, below the oval shape and over-lapping the green Paper Frame.

Mat photos onto White Cardstock or the white side of the pattern paper and adhere to layout, as shown.

Make a journaling tag by adhering a Paper Frame to lines light brown Storybox.  Trim off excess, using an All-Purpose Scissors.

Apply "DAD" Simple Monogram Stickers (brown) to green paper.  Trim around each letter and adhere to the layout using Foam Squares.

Apply the flower sticker from Simply Beautiful Title Stickers and spell "just like" using the Decorative ABC Stickers.

Using Foam Squares, adhere Paper Buttons.
