Twelve Days of Christmas Project Idea - Day 9 - December 9, 2010

How to create "JOY" garland:

Using the CCS Large Circle Pattern (inside of template) and the Red Blade, cut 4 circles from Espresso Cardstock.

Using the same pattern (inside of template) and the Green Blade, cut 4 additional circles from the Reminisce Christmas pattern paper.

Apply Simple Monogram Stickers (brown) “J" and "Y” to two of the smaller circles.  Use the wreath sticker to replace the letter “O”.

Apply the clear sticker “Season’s Greetings” on top of wreath sticker.

Cut apart the clear sticker “May the joys of Christmas" from the "be yours" and apply the first part across the last smaller circle.
 
Using the Circle Maker, punch a 1-1/4" circle from Espresso Cardstock.  Apply the "be yours" clear sticker.  Adhere below the "May the Joys", using Foam Squares.

Position the 4 Espresso circles side-by-side with approx. 1/4" spacing between each one.  Center a 40" piece of lace across the four circles (allowing an even excess amount on each end).  Adhere the smaller circles on top in the proper order.

Cut a "v" in one end of (2) 2-1/2" pieces of green ribbon.  Adhere one to each end of the circles.

Apply additional stickers.

Finished size:  40" x 3-3/8"

Twelve Days of Christmas Project Idea - Day 8 - December 8, 2010

How to create Ball Ornaments:

Using the CCS Medium Circle Pattern (inside of template) and the Red Blade, cut 9 circles from assorted colors of Reminise pattern paper.  (8 of these circles will be used for the ornament, the 9th will be used to create a triangle).

On one of the circles, draw an equalateral triangle (all three sides should be equal in length and the points will be touching the edge of the circle).

Trace the triangle onto the inside of each of the 8 other circles.  Score, using the Rotary Scoring Blade, and fold along all the lines.

Using the Tape Runner, join one flap each from two circles - triangles should point in the same direction.  Using the same technique, adhere the flaps of two more circles to these two, forming what will be the top.  Make the bottom in the same way, adhering all of the flaps.

If desired, you can use Precision Point Adhesive to glue together any large gaps where the flaps meet.

Use a needle and thread to create a small hole and hang from the thread.

Finished size:  Approximately 3" in diameter

  

How to Create Lollipop Ornaments:

Using the CCS Large Circle Pattern (inside of template) and the Blue Blade, cut 2 circles from the Reminisce pattern paper (you will use these for the front and back of the ornament).

Trim (2) 2" x 12" strips of matching pattern paper.

Fold over one strip of paper 1/2".  Flip over and fold again 1/2" so that the paper starts looking like an accordion.  Continue folding this way for the entire length of paper.  (For more precise folds you can use your Scoring or Perforating Rotary Blade.  I used the Perforating Blade.)

Repeat accordion fold technique on the second strip of paper.

Place the end of one accordion strip onto the end of the other strip, overlapping one or two folds.  Adhere using Tape Runner.

Twist the other ends of the accordion strips around.  You may have excess length that you'll want to cut off, depending on how "tight" you want your folds to appear.  Use the Tape Runner to hold the ends together.

Now, squish the circle and try to make the center hole as small as possible.  Put hot glue around the center, getting inside the accordion grooves as best as you can.

Adhere one of the previously cut circles over the hot glue, centered.  Repeat with the back side.  Apply a sticker to the front, using Foam Squares.

Use a needle and thread to create a small hole in the circle on the back of the ornament and hang from the thread.

Finish Size:  Approximately 4-3/4" in diameter

How to create Reminisce Christmas Tree:

Use the Brick Cardstock as a base.  Wrap it around the styrofoam cone and adhere.

Once the cardstock is adhered, cut off all extra paper with All-Purpose Scissors so the cardstock is flush with the styrofoam cone.

Using the Circle Maker, begin punching 1-1/2" circles from various pieces of the Reminisce Christmas Additions.  You should have approximately 55-60 circles total.

Using the Circle Maker, punch approximately (11) more 1-1/2" circles from the Reminisce Christmas paper, leaving a 3/4" straight edge on the bottom of each circle.

Peel 3 stickers from the sticker sheet (I chose the red "Merry Christmas", "Tis The Season", and "December 25" stickers) and apply to red pattern paper.  Use the 1-1/2" Circle Maker to center over the sticker and punch to make them circular.
 
Starting at the bottom of the cardstock covered styrofoam, adhere the straight edge circles with Tape Runner adhesive, overlapping each circle by approximately 1/4" to cover most of the cardstock base.
 
On the second row start using the full circles and begin the row in between 2 circles from the bottom row.  Alternate circles randomly for a colorful effect throughout the tree.
 
Adhere the sticker circles near the center, but not all together.
 
Continue adhering circles until they come to the top of the cone.  The top row of circles should go above the cone by 1/2".
 
Free-hand cut (or trace) 2 stars from the red patterned paper.  Adhere stars together using Foam Squares.
 
Place a straight pin in between the stars, securing with Foam Squares and stick into the top of the cone.

Finished Size:  Approx. 13" tall

How to create Grapevine Wreath Ornament:

Wrap an entire strip of the 1/2" z-fold Very Merry Paper Ribbon around the entire 6” grapevine wreath. Create a fold at the end of the Paper Ribbon and adhere to the opposite end of the Paper Ribbon on the wreath.

Cut (2) 1/2" x 6” strips of silver metallic paper and fold one end in half, creating a loop and snip a reverse ‘V’ at the end. Adhere both pieces together creating a ribbon tie.

Cut (2) 1" x 12" strips of printed paper.  Create a zig-zag fold every other direction. Adhere one end of each zig-zag strips together, creating one long strip.

Using the Circle Maker, cut (2) 1-1/4" circles from pattern paper.  Form the zig-zag strips into a circle and adhere one side to one of the circles to secure zig-zag circle shape. Adhere the another  1-1/4" circle piece to the front.  Apply an epoxy sticker and printed title ‘Happy Holidays’.

Trim three pattern papers to 1/4" x 8". Using the All-Purpose Scissors,curl both ends of each strip.  Adhere the strips to the wreath.

Adhere the metallic ribbon ties using Foam Squares to the center of the 1/4" curled strips and adhere the zig-zag circle flower to the center of the metallic ribbon tie.

Twelve Days of Christmas Project Idea - Day 5 - December 5, 2010

How to create Christmas Recipe Clip:

Clothespin:

Cut two 1-3/8” x 5-3/4” strip of the red snowflake paper.  Adhere to the front and back of the clothespin. 

Adhere two 5-3/4” strips of the brown and red patterned Paper Ribbon to each side. 

Adhere the Christmas tree and blue snowflake epoxy stickers to the front as shown from the Very Merry Embellishment Pack.  Adhere the reindeer epoxy sticker to the bottom of the clothespin back. 

Using large foam squares, adhere the gingerbread girl and boy to the front as shown. 

Tie a ribbon bow through the metal clothespin as shown.

 Recipe Card:

Using Storybook Creator Plus 3.0, create a custom size 5” x 3.5” card.  Using the Very Merry Digital Kit, place the Dear Santa Very Merry paper enlarged as shown.

Add the Very Merry Ribbon #1 as shown across the top.  Add the Very Merry Ribbon #2 as shown right below Ribbon #1. 

Add your recipe title. 

Insert the Peppermint Candy embellishment as shown.  Under the Format tab, add drop shadow.  Add a photo.  Under the “Cut & Fill” tab, click Ellipse and flatten.  Click “make circle”.  Click “erase the shaded area” and flatten.  Center the image on the Peppermint Candy embellishment.

Insert the Dear Santa embellishment.  Under the Cut and Fill tab, select the magic wand.  Select the entire tree.  Choose “copy the selected area”.  Delete the original Dear Santa embellishment.  Align the tree along the right side of the card as shown.  Select the Tree layer.  Right-click and select “copy”.  Under the Arrange tab on the Rotate section, click “flip horizontally” and align along the left side of the card as shown.

Insert the Dear Santa embellishment.  Under the Cut and Fill tab, select the magic wand.  Select the reindeer.  Choose “copy the selected area”.  Delete the original Dear Santa embellishment.  Under the Format tab, add drop shadow and align reindeer in front of the tree on the right side of the card.

Print the recipe card and insert into the clothespin.

How to Create Wreath Card:

Using the Green Cardstock and the Medium Circle Pattern (outside of template) and the Green Blade, cut a 5-1/4" circle.  This will be the card base.

With the present paper from the Cheerful Christmas Addition, cut a second circle same as above.  Leaving the Circle Pattern in place, change to the Red Blade and cut a 2-1/2" circle from the inside of the template, making certain to leave a 3/4" section of the circle un-cut.  This will be the piece that lifts up. 

Place adhesive on the present side of the large circle, leaving the small circle without adhesive, and adhere to the Green Cardstock circle.

Using the Small Circle Pattern (inside of template) and the green side of the present paper from the Cheerful Christmas Addition, cut seven 1-1/2" circles using the Red Blade and nine 1” circles using the Blue Blade.  Randomly adhere circles to the wreath, placing Foam Squares under four of the circles. 

Trace the center circle cut with a Red Fine-Tip pen, making dashes then add the “season’s Greetings” Cheerful Christmas Addition Clear Title Stickers to the center.
 
With the Medium Circle Pattern (inside of template) and White Cardstock, cut a 2” circle using the Blue Blade.  Using the Red Fine-Tip Pen, add dashes to the outer edge of the circle.  Adhere the “ho ho ho!” Cheerful Christmas Addition Clear Title Stickers toward the top of the circle.

Trim a photo with Medium Circle Pattern (inside of template) to a 2-1/2" circle using the Red Blade.  Adhere the photo to the inside of the wreath, under flap.

To create accordion flower, cut a 1” x 10” piece of the striped paper from the Cheerful Christmas Addition and score at every 1/2" mark.  Accordion fold, adhere the two open ends to form a circle then press down in the center of the folds to form the flower.  Adhere a button on top to hold the flower in place and adhere to the bottom right side of the card.  Apply the leaf sticker from the Cheerful Christmas Addition to the side of the button.

With a 5” piece of fiber, fold in half and adhere between the two large circles so that the card can hang from the tree!

 

Finished Size: 5-1/2"

How to create layout:

Use Cranberry Cardstock as the base for this layout.

Adhere a 12" x 6" strip of the red & white stripe paper approx. 2" from the bottom edge.

Using the Tag Maker, cut 12 tags from the red pattern paper.  Trim 1" from the top of each tag and adhere along the top and bottom of the stripe paper.

Mat a 7" x 5" photo onto a 7-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of White Cardstock.  Adhere to the layout, as shown.

Apply the tree sticker, approx. 1/2" from the left edge of layout.

Using the CCS Small Circle Pattern (inside of template) and the Red Blade, cut two circles from the red pattern paper.  Cut another circle, using the same pattern and the Green Blade.  Cut one more circle using the Medium Circle Pattern (inside of template) and the  Red Blade.  Apply stickers and adhere all circles next to the photo, as shown.  Using Foam Squares for the largest circle. 

Using an All-Purpose Scissors, cut three presents from the present pattern paper.  Adhere under the tree sticker.

Using the CCS Large Circle Pattern (inside of template) and the Red Blade, cut a circle from the stripe paper.  Cut a second circle from the red pattern paper, using the Green Blade.  Layer the circles and trim approx. 1" off one side.  Adhere to the layout.

Cut a 12" x 1/2" stripe of the red & white strip paper.  Cut a v into each end and fold to resemble a bow.  Adhere across the top of the trimmed circle.  Apply a circle sticker to the center of the bow.

Use Simple ABC/123 Stickers (white) to apply the title.  Apply the snowflake sticker and "holiday traditions" title sticker.  Use a Precious Element Metallic Silver Pen to doodle around the edge of the Cranberry Cardstock and circles.

Traditional Tuesday Project Idea - November 30, 2010

How to create double layout:

Use Reminisce Winter Addition snowflake pattern paper as the base for both sides of this double layout.

Using a Corner Maker, round the corners of a 6-1/2" x 4-1/2" photo.  Mat onto 7" x 5" White Cardstock, round the corners.  Mat onto 8" x 6" Brick Cardstock, then round the corners.  Adhere to the left side page, approx. 3/4" from the top.

Mat (3) 4-1/2" x 3" photos onto a 5" x 9-1/2" strip of White Cardstock.  Adhere to the center of the right side page.

Using the Small Circle Pattern (outside of template) and the Green Blade, cut two circles from Brick Cardstock.  Cut two circles from White Cardstock using the same pattern and the Red Blade.  Layer the circles and adhere to the layout, as shown.  Use an All-Purpose Scissors to trim off the excess. 

Apply the stickers, using Foam Squares.

Journal on White Cardstock, using a computer and Century Gothic font.  Cut into strips and adhere to the layout.

Using Swirly & Simple Monogram Stickers (white), apply the title across both pages.  Use Swirly ABC/123 Stickers (white) for the year.

Traditional Tuesday Project Idea - November 2, 2010

 How to create layout:

Use White Cardstock as the base.

Adhere a 4-1/2" x 8" piece of green pattern paper approx. 1" from the top and left side edges.

Adhere a 5-1/2" x 4" strip of dark burgandy paper approx. 1" from the right edge and 3" from the top.

Adhere a 7-3/4" x 2-3/4" strip of gold pattern paper 1/4" from the right edge and 1-1/2" from the top edge.

Using an All-Purpose Scissors, cut the border from the orange pattern paper.  Adhere to the lower portion of the layout.

Adhere a 6" x 4" photo above the border, as shown.

Adhere a green Storybox, over-lapping the photo.  Adhere a 3-3/4" x 3 photo over-lapping the Storybox. 

Using the Reminisce Decorative ABC Stickers, apply the title, as shown.  Apply the "Happy Days" sticker, as shown.

Adhere Paper Flowers and journaling.

How to create layout:

Use What Cardstock as the base for this layout.

Using Black Pen draw a double line 1/4" from the edge, all the way around cardstock.  Use pen to fill in, in between lines.

Cut green patterned paper to measure 2-5/8" x 2-7/8".  Cut three pieces this size. Adhere to layout as shown. 

Cut patterned paper to measure 2-3/8" x 2-5/8". Cut three pieces this size.  Adhere to the top of the green pieces using Foam Squares. 

Cut red patterned paper to measure 4-5/8" x 3-7/8". Adhere to layout as shown using Foam Squares.

Print photo to measure 3-3/4" x 4-5/8". Adhere to the red patterned paper using Foam Squares.

Add stickers as shown.

Add Sophisticate Brown ABC/123 Stickers for title.

Using black pen, journal, and doodle along outer edges of circle stickers.
