Love Idea of the Day - February 11, 2010

How to create "So much to love" layout:

Use the 12" x 12" Discover Tone-on-Tone Paper (brown patterned) as your base.

Cut the white with dots, Discover Designer-Print Paper 10-3/4" x 10-3/4" and adhere in the center of your base page.

Cut a Brown Cardstock 10-1/4" x 10-1/4" and adhere in the center of dotted paper.

Cut a Deep Blue Cardstock 10" x 10", round corners with Corner Maker, and distress edges with fingernail.  Adhere to center of Brown Cardstock.

Mat three sets of three 2" x 2" photos onto 2-1/2" x 6-1/4" strips of Discover Storyboxes.  Example used Green, Brown and Red.

Cut a circle out of a lined Discover Storybox using the CCS Large Circle Pattern (Red Blade inside of circle).  Adhere a circle Discover Paper Frame onto the cut circle and journal with Fine-tip Black Pen.

Adhere journal circle to layout approx. 4-3/4" from top edge, and 2" from left side.  Adhere your photo strips to layout with the first one slightly over-lapping your journal circle, the second and third one slightly over-lapping the previous one.

Spell out "So much to love" with Swirly ABC/123 White Stickers and embellish with Discover Paper Buttons as shown.

How to create Love Is Sweet Layout:

Use 12" x 12" Black Cardstock for the base.  Cut a 10-1/2" heart out of Limited Edition Be Mine pattern paper.  Adhere to Black Cardstock with a Tape Runner.

Cut 5-1/2" x 6-1/2" out of Taffy Cardstock.  Adhere in the center of the heart (width should be 5-1/2"). 

Adhere two photos 5-1/4" x 3-3/4" onto Limited Edition Be Mine pink XOXO pattern paper.  Edges will be touching and at an angle as shown.

Leaving total width 12", cut around photos with pink paper matting the photos.

Adhere to layout as shown.

Using Frosted Photo Splits, adhere "Harmony" verse from The Heart Vellum Accents, below the photo on left. 

Cut out lip shape from Brick Cardstock for journaling.  Add "Love Is Sweet" using Simple ABC/123 Black Stickers and "Love is a real TREAT" using Swirly ABC/123 White Stickers.

Cut 5-1/2" strip of heart border from Limited Edition Classic Valentine Stickers and apply it as a border above photo on right side.

Using Foam Squares to add dimension, embellish layout with additonal Limited Edition Classic Valentine Stickers.

How to create Kisses Love Box:

Cut Pink Lemonade Cardstock to 5-1/2" x 8".  Score along the long side at 1", 3-1/2", 4-1/2" and 7".  Score the short side at 1" and 4-1/2".

On the long sides cut 4 one inch slits at the 4 score lines.  Fold Box to shape and adhere with Photo Tape.

With Primary Valentine Additions patterned paper, cut a mat for the top of the box 2-1/4" x 3-1/4".  Edge box with one inch strips of patterend paper.

Punch a solid scallop circle from Taffy Cardstock to layer on top of the box with Foam Squares.  Decorate with Limited Edition Classic Valentine Stickers.

Apply "Kisses" sticker from the Primary Valentines Additions stickers to the box as shown. 

Punch a heart with the Sweet Heart Maker out of a scrap of Primary Valentine Additions.  Adhere it in the inside, bottom of box.  Fill box with chocolate kisses.

Love Project Idea of the Day - February 8, 2010

How to create Baby Talk layout:

For your base, use 12" x 12" Discover Designer-Print Paper.  Choose the mostly red side with distressed stripes across the top as shown.

Adhere a 4" x 6" photo approx. 2-1/4" from top edge and 1/2" from left edge.  Spell out "Baby" with Discover Decorative Stickers, applying directly on photo.

Adhere a 3" x 2" photo next, even with top of first photo and leaving 1/8" between photos. (Note: Words were added to all small photos digitally before printing.) 

Cut a 3" x 1-1/4" piece of Honeydew Cardstock.  Spell out "TALK" with Discover Decorative ABC Stickers, doodle, drawing dots with Fine-tip Cocoa Pen and adhere below previous photo.

Adhere a  2" x 3" photo, lining up with the bottom of the Honeydew Cardstock.

Adhere next photo, 3-3/4" x 3-1/4", below Honeydew Cardstock, and 2-1/4" x 2" photo directly below that photo.

Last photo will be 2-3/4" x 2".  Adhere round Discover Paper Frame behind photo (as shown) and adhere to layout.

Adhere a light brown, square Discover Paper Frame next to bear photo (in sample).  Embellish with Discover Paper Buttons and scrap of paper to journal Date, as shown.

Add a strip of Discover Paper Ribbon 3-3/4" long below light brown frame.

Take a dark brown Discover Paper Frame and trace it's shape on a piece of French Vanilla Cardstock.  Cut around tracing with All-purpose Scissors and adhere to back of frame.  Put the LOVE Discover Title Sticker (cutting out the word from the circle) in the center of your frame.  Add a light blue frame and adhere to layout as shown.

Add journaling below ribbon.

How to create Be Mine Treat Can:

Sample shown is a 4-1/4" tall, by 3" diameter can.

Cut 4" x 10" Cranberry Cardstock.  Adhere to can with Tape Runner.

Cut 2 different, 10" strips of Black & White Paper Ribbon.  Adhere one approx. 1/8" from top rim of can and one approx. 1/8" from bottom rim of can.

Using the Tag Maker, cut 2 tags, one from Black Cardstock, one from White Cardstock.  Punch holes at top of each tag.

Cut a 1/8" x 2" strip of Cranberry Cardstock and adhere to black tag, 1/8" from bottom.

Doodle, drawing a double line around white tag with Fine-tip Red Pen.

Aligning up the holes of the tags, adhere tags together off-set, black behind white, at shown.

Add "Be Mine" sticker to white tag from the Primary Valentine Additions.

Using the Sweet Heart Maker, cut 4 hearts from Black and 1 from Cranberry Cardstock.  Use the center of one Black and the Cranberry one to embellish the corner of your tag.

Cut a 4" strip of Black & White Paper Ribbon, then cut the length of the ribbon in half (narrow enough to fit through the tag hole.  Tie to tag, snip ends diagonal, and curl around a pencil.

Adhere tag to front of your can with Tape Runner.

Adhere black hearts around the can using Precision Point Adhesive, and fill with treats!

How to create "I Love You" layout:

Use a 12" x 12" Pink Lemonade Cardstock as your base.

Using the CCS Jumbo Circle Pattern and Green Blade cut a circle out of Black & White Tone-on-Tone Paper.  Cut a second circle, from the first one (making the skinny trim shown) with the Red Blade.  Cut skinny circle in half.

Cut 6-1/2" x 12" piece of Black & White Designer-Print Paper, striped side.  Lightly adhere on Pink Lemonade Cardstock approx. 3" down from top of page, leaving top & bottom edges free.

Take a black frame from the Black & White Paper Frame collection, cut in half and adhere half along top, left edge of striped paper, and half along bottom, right edge of striped paper.

Take each half of your circle and adhere with Precision Point adhesive above and below your stripe paper, over-lapping frame, off-set as shown.  Tuck edges of your circle under the pattern paper.  Adhere edges of pattern paper with Precision Point Adhesive.

Use three Black & White Storyboxes to mat three 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" photos and adhere on striped pattern paper.  Frame your center photo with the striped frame from the Black & White Paper Frames, using Foam Squares to add dimension.

Cut an 8" strip of black with white polka dot Black & White Paper Ribbon.  Adhere along bottom edge of pattern paper, starting at left edge of layout.

Using the Scallop Circle Maker, cut 4 scalloped circles (2 with holes, 2 without) from Black & White Designer-Print Paper. 

Starting with a pink Delight Paper Flower, layer 1 scalloped circle without hole, 1scalloped circle with hole,  medium-size Black & White Paper Flower, top with small Black & White flower.  Adhere all layers, then adhere layered flower to layout as shown.  Make a second layered flower and adhere to layout.

Layer 4 Black & White Paper Flowers, adhere next to first flowers.  Add a Black & White Paper Frame to upper left of layout, using Foam Squares for dimension.

Cut a circle from a Black & White Storybox (white with lines) using the CCS Circle Pattern (medium pattern with Red Blade).  Adhere a circle Black & White Paper Frame over the cut circle.  Journal, then adhere with Foam Squares.

Embellish with "I Love You" sticker and "It's the little things that make life beautiful" sticker from the Black & White Title Stickers, as shown.

Use bottom skinny circle to journal in and doodle, adding dots around outside of circles using a Fine-tip Black Pen.

How to create Love Fortune Cookies:

Cut a 4-1/4" circle from Espresso Cardstock using the CCS Small Circle Pattern and Blue Blade.

Fold the circle in half and make a small cut in the center of the fold, going about 1/2" deep.

Unfold.  Fold in half the other direction, make a second 1/2" deep cut to form an "X" shape in the center of the circle.

Refold.  Gently curl the edge of the half circle nearest to you in, (wrapping the paper around your fingers once, makes a nice gentle curl) to create a slight tube shape.

Push the paper in at the center (at the cut) and pull the edges toward each other.

Adhere using the Precision Point Adhesive in the center between the sides.

Use a clothes pin to hold sides together while the adhesive is drying.

Cut a strip (or use a scrap) of pink paper from Primary Valentine Additions approx. 1/2" x 4-1/2".

Using the Fine-tip Berry Pen, write "Fortunes" (Examples:  You are going to fall in love.  You will go on to do great things.  Adventure is in your future.  Beware of a (fill in the blank) woman tonight.)

Once the adhesive is dry, take each fortune strip and slide them under the back fold of the cookie so that they are tucked up inside.  You will be able to insert, remove, read and replace the fortunes without damaging the cookie shape.

How to create "Warm Your Heart" cup:

Take a piece of decorative paper from the Primary Valentine Additions and cut it to fit around your selected disposable cup.  (Note:  it may make it easier to take apart an identical cup and trace a pattern so you get the arch of the cup's shape correctly to avoid puckering).  Attach it to the cup.

Adhere a black frame from the Black and White Paper Frames to front of cup using Precision Point Adhesive.

Spell out "To Warm Your" using the Swirly ABC/123 Black and White Stickers.  Use the black stickers under the white to create a shadow and pop the white letters.  Attach a heart sticker from the Primary Valentine Additions to complete the title "To Warm Your (Heart)".

Take tea bags and wrap a strip of Black and White Paper Ribbon around them to hold them together.  Adhere with tape runner.

Cut a 1-1/4" circle and a 1-1/2" circle from dotted pattern Primary Valentine Additions paper using the Circle Maker.  Adhere them to the front of the tea bags with a Tape Runner and embellish with a large heart sticker.

Cut two more 1-1/2" circles with the Circle Maker and select one more heart sticker.  Put adhesive on both circles and sandwich the top of a plastic spoon handle in between them.  Embellish with the selected heart sticker from the Primary Valentine Additions.

Take one remaining tea bag, partially open and pull out the tag and string.  Cut a 2-1/2" x 1-1/4" piece of the Primary Valentine Additions paper.  Fold in half and adhere around tea bag tag.  Embellish with a small title sticker from Primary Valentine Additions.

Love Project Idea of the Day - February 3, 2010

To create Oooh-la-la! layout:

Using the CCS Jumbo Circle Pattern and the Blue Blade (outside of the template), cut two circles; one from Black Cardstock and one from Cement Cardstock. 

Adhere circles together, Black on top of Cement, overlapping 1/2" as shown.

Cut a circle using the Jumbo Circle Pattern and Red Blade out of Delight Fashion Diva white with black polka dots pattern paper.  Adhere to the top of the Black circle, leaving a 1/4" mat around entire circle.

Adhere a Basic Decorative Cardstock Cranberry approx. 2" down from top of Black circle and 2" from left side of Cement circle.  Trim off extra with a All-purpose Scissors, following the line of your dotted circle.

Print black & white photo of choice.  Sample is 11" x 8-1/2".  Using Jumbo Circle Pattern with Red Blade, cut right side of photo so that it matches up to the right side of your dotted circle.  Adhere in place.

Embellish with layered Delight Paper Flowers and Delight Shipper Diva Stickers (Oooh-la-la! & Butterflies).

Journal on Basic Decorative Cardstock Cranberry, using Fine-point Black Pen to put the finishing touch on your layout.

How to create "Ticket to my Heart" Tag:

Using the Tag Maker and the Primary Valentine Additions dotted paper, punch out two tags, punching a hole only in one of the tags.

Adhere the tags together overlapping the bottom edges approx. 1/2". 

Cut a strip of the same paper 2" x 1/8", adhere across seam with striped side up.

Cut a 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" rectangle out of Pink Lemonade Cardstock.  Snip corners with All-purpose Scissors.

With Fine-tip Black Pen, draw around the edge of the rectangle and add numbers to give rectangle the appearance of being a ticket as shown.

Using the Sweet Heart Maker, create a heart out of Taffy Cardstock.  Adhere to your ticket.  Add dots to heart with Fine-point Black Pen.

Using Foam Squares for dimension, adhere ticket to lower half of tag.  Spell out "Ticket to my" with the Swirly ABC/123 Black Stickers.  Doodle, adding dots along your letters using Fine-point Black Pen, as shown.

Cut a 6" piece of dotted Delight Paper Ribbon.  Snip ends diagonal, insert through tag hole and fold in half as shown.  Adhere with Precision Point Adhesive to secure ribbon.
