Holiday Project Idea of the Day-November 20, 2009

Alter the Power Sort Mini Box and Cover, and fill the box with handmade cards to give as a Holiday gift!

How to create:

All I want for Christmas Box:

Using a sheet of the green swirly Photo Mat paper attach to the front of the Mini Power Sort box.
 
Trim a strip of red pattern paper to measure ½" x 7". Attach strip to middle of the box.
 
Punch out 3 shapes from the Cement Cardstock using the Petal Multi Maker. Using the Circle Maker, punch out the petal shapes using the 1-1/2"circle punch. Cut each circle in half with your trimmer. Attach 5 half circles across the red pattern paper strip as shown.
 
Using the CCS and White Cardstock, cut out a 2-1/2"circle from the White Cardstock.
 
Using the Scallop Circle Maker and the red pattern paper, punch out two scallops, cut them in half. Attach the halved scallops around the back side of the White Cardstock circle, you will have to overlap the scallops to have them fit around the circle.
 
Attach the ‘present’ sticker using a Foam Square to the center of the White Cardstock circle.
 
Attach clear ‘All I want for Christmas’ sticker to the lower right on box.
 
Using the ‘Christmas Blessings’ clear sticker, trim away the holly berries from the sticker and attach the remaining saying to one of the white tabs that come with the Sort Boxes, and place in the top slot.
 
Cover dividers with your favorite pattern paper or cardstock.

Christmas Blessings Box:

Using the red swirly paper from the Jewel Christmas Additions paper, cover the front of the Mini Sort box.
 
Trim a piece of Jewel Paper Ribbon to 6-1/2" and attach to red swirly pattern paper across the bottom.
 
Using the Cranberry Cardstock and the Circle Maker, punch out two circles using the 1-1/2" punch. Rip edges of circles and finish by tracing around the cardstock with the Black Fine Tip pen. Attach to the lower left on box. Overlap some of the circles as shown.
 
Using the Evergreen Cardstock, hand draw two holly leaf shapes. Rip them out. Trace around edges with the Fine Tip Black pen. Attach to the box as shown.
 
Attach the clear “Christmas Blessing” sticker to the French Vanilla cardstock and trim cardstock to be 2-1/2"x 3".  Make little rips around the top and bottom edges of the cardstock and attach to the box.
 
Using the white tabs that come with the  PowerSort Boxes, spell out CARDS and place in the top slot.
 
Cover dividers with your favorite pattern paper or cardstock.

Holiday Project Idea of the Day-November 19, 2009

Gather your families recipes that you have collected over the years and place them all together in this recipe book, and give the gift of cookies and soups passed down from your grandmother for a Holiday gift.

How to create:

Trim cardboard to 5-1/4" x 12". Using scoring blade on the Rotary Trimmer, score down the center (center would be 6 inches) of cardboard and score an inch to the left and right of your center score line so you have 3 score lines total. Make sure your center score is scored really well so it bends in easily. Punch two holes on the top and bottom edges of the cardboard.
 
Trim a 5-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece of cardboard for cover of album.
 
Cover the outside edges with the Earthy Serenity pattern paper. Do not cover the bottom so not to disturb the scoring folds.
 
Recipe cards measure 4-1/2" x 5". You can handwrite or print them out. Punch holes in the top to match the cardboard.
 
Using the Circle Maker, punch out atleast 4 large circles from the cream patterned paper. 
 
Write the names of each section on the sides – Breakfast, Desserts, Main Meals, Soups and what ever other sections you want in the album. Using the Simple Brown ABC/123 alphabet stickers, place the first letter of each section on the circle as shown.
 
Using the clear stickers, embellish some of the recipe cards.

Place all recipe cards in between the front cover and the back folded base, holding all pieces in place with the binder ring. 

Sand edges with sand paper, if desired.

How to create:

Ingredients:
Classic Summer Addition
Primary Decorative ABC Stickers
Primary Paper Buttons
Cardstock- Clay
Scalloped Circle Maker
Fine Tip black pen
 
How to create:
Trim a piece of Clay Cardstock to 1-1/2" x 7".
 
Using the Classic Summer orange paper, punch out a solid scalloped circle using the Scalloped Circle Maker.
 
Attach the orange scallop to the top of the cardstock.
 
Take the green and purple Primary Paper Button and attach in the center of the
Orange scalloped circle. Using the Fine Tip black pen make small ‘V’ shapes around the paper button.
 
Using the Primary Decorative ABC stickers, spell out the word ‘Escape’ down the center of the cardstock as shown.
 
Using the Fine Tip black pen, doodle loops around the outside edges of the bookmark. Make loops so one is up and the next is down and so on all the way around the edges.
 
 
Brain Fuel Bookmark
 
Ingredients:
Primary Paper Ribbon
Delight Paper Buttons
Cardstock- Lavender and Aquamarine
Scalloped Circle Maker
Meadow Micro Maker
Friendship Micro Maker
Circle Maker
Fine Tip black pen
 

Trim a piece of Lavender cardstock to 1-1/2" x 7".
 
Using the Lavender Cardstock, punch out a solid scallop circle using the Scalloped Circle Maker.
Place a Paper button center on scallop.
 
Using the Primary Paper Ribbon with dots, trim 5 strips, each 1 inch long- cut into and notch ends. Attach them around the cardstock scalloped circle as shown.
 
Punch a 1 inch circle from the Lavender Cardstock using the Circle Maker.
Cover the strip ends on the back of the bookmark.
 
Attach the purple Primary Paper Ribbon down center of cardstock. Write Brain Fuel using the Fine Tip black pen along edges of ribbon.
 
Using the Meadow Micro Maker, punch flower from the purple Primary Paper Ribbon.
Using the Friendship Micro Maker punch out a small flower from the Aquamarine Cardstock.
 
Finish by making dashes and dots around the Lavendar scalloped circle.
 

Reading Rocks! Bookmark
 
 
Ingredients:
Black and White Paper Ribbons
Delight Paper Button
Black and White Paper Flower
Black and White Paper Frames
Cardstock- Aquamarine
ABC/123 Simple Black
Fine Tip black pen
 
How to create:
Trim a piece of Aquamarine Cardstock to 2" x 8".
 
Place Black and White Paper circle frame over the top of the Aquamarine Cardstock. Attach a Black and White Paper Flower in the center and attach a Delight Paper Button in the center of the flower.
 
Use Simple Black ABC/123 Stickers to spell out "Reading Rocks", using a Delight Paper heart paper button for the O in ‘Rocks’.
Make dashes down the edges of the bookmark.
 
Attach Black and White Paper Ribbon at the bottom.

Holiday Project Idea-November 17, 2009

 

Create this adorable little tag "book" using any theme/occassion for a loved one as a Holiday gift.

How to create:

Using Tag Maker, punch 27 tags from cardstock/patterned papers. 

Embellish each tag as desired.  

Add Simple Monogram Stickers letters A-Z on each Tag.  Add a describing word starting with each letter on that tag. 

Punch random photos using the Tag Maker, and add to the backs of random tags. 

Place each tag on the Binder Ring in order from A-Z.

To add curling ribbon:  Cut paper in 1/4" strips, and run scissors along edge of paper between thumb and pinter finger.  This will "curl" the paper. "Tie" onto the ring.

Holiday Project Idea of the Day-November 16, 2009

How to Create:

Cut Cement Cardstock to measure 5-1/2" x 11".

Use scoring blade on Rotary Trimmer and score at 5-1/2".  Fold card in half.

Cut Brick Cardstock to measure 5-1/4" x 5-1/4".  Adhere to front of card.

Cut blue patterned paper to measure 4-1/4" x 4-1/4". Sand edges using sand paper. Adhere at an angle on the front of the card.

To make snowman:  Use Circle Maker and punch one small circle from the French Vanilla Cardstock, and one large circle from the Cloud Cardstock.  To make the base piece use the inside of the CCS-medium circle with the green blade with White Cardstock.  Overlap each piece slightly as shown and adhere together. 

Using Square Maker, punch small square from Black Cardstock, trim away 1/4".  Using Square Maker, punch large square from Black Cardstock.  Trim away 1/4" for the brim of the hat. Assemble as shown. 

Use Scalloped Circle Maker making sure the switch is so that it will punch the small circles.  Punch, use smaller pieces for the "buttons" and "eyes".  Adhere to snowman as shown.

Using Friendship Micro Maker, punch heart shape from Carrot Cardstock.  Cut "tip" of heart, and adhere for the "nose". 

Cut two pieces from Black Cardstock measuring 1/4" x 1-1/2". Adhere to the back side of the snowman for the "arms". 

Using Friendship Micro Maker, punch two hearts from the Brick Cardstock.  Using All Purpose Scissors, cut away tips, and adhere to the ends of the arms as the "mittens"  using Precision Point Adhesive.

Using Meadow Micro Maker, punch flower from Brick Cardstock.  Adhere to hat "brim" using Precision Point Adhesive.

Turn assembled snowman over and place Foam Squares on back side of Snowman.  Adhere to card as shown. 

Punch snowflakes using Limited Edition Snowflake Pocket Punch. Adhere to card using Precision Point Adhesive. 

Use Cocoa Pen to doodle around outer edges of card as shown. 

Add Simple White ABC/123 Stickers for title.

Holiday Project Idea of the Day-November 15, 2009

Get a jump start on your Holiday cards...

How to create:

Cut Cactus Cardstock to measure 8" x 8". 

Use scoring blade on Rotary Trimmer,score at 4".  Fold card in half. 

Cut Cement Cardstock to measure 3-3/4"x 7-3/4".  Adhere to front of card.

Using brown Discover Paper ribbon, cut a piece 1-1/2" in length.  Adhere at the bottom of card vertically for the tree "trunk".

Using Discover Paper Ribbon, cut ribbon at different lengths and adhere to card starting with the longest on the bottom and smallest on the top, overlapping slightly. 

Run fingernail under the bottom side of the ribbon, for added dimension.

Using Galaxy Micro Maker, punch star from Gold Cardstock.  Adhere to top of "tree" using Foam Squares.

Using Simple Brown ABC/123 Stickers, add title to card.

Use cocoa pen to doodle along outer edge of Cement Cardstock.

Thanksgiving Project Idea of the Day-November 14, 2009

Use a Spice of Life Paper Album Kit to hi-light your holiday with your family. 

How to create:

Place yellow patterned paper on the left hand side of the 2 page spread.

Cut a strip from the orange patterned paper to measure 1-1/8" x 6-1/2". Place horizontally on the upper portion of the yellow patterned paper.

Cut purple patterned paper to measure 2" x 4-1/2". Adhere to layout as shown.

Cut yellow patterned paper to measure 1-3/4" x 4-1/4".  Adhere to top of purple patterned paper as shown. 

Add clear title sticker to the top of the yellow patterned paper, and then epoxy stickers as shown. 

Place orange floral patterned paper on the right hand side of the two page spread. 

Cut yellow patterned paper to measure 4-1/4" x 4-1/4".  Adhere to layout as shown.

Cut orange patterned paper to measure 4" x 4". Adhere to the top of the yellow patterned paper as shown.

Add rectangle epoxy sticker to the right side of box as shown.

Run fingernail under each piece of paper to give the layout a dimensional effect.

Pass the book around to each of your guests asking them to write what they are thankful for this year!

After the Holiday, print photos and add to the rest of the book!

Thanksgiving Project Idea of the Day-November 13, 2009

How to create:

Cut Cement Cardstock so it measures 8-1/2"x 5-1/2".

Score card with scoring rotary blade so it measures 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".

Cut Spiced Cider Cardstock to 3-1/2"x5 ".

Center Spiced Cider Cardstock on top of Cement Cardstock and adhere.

Punch six 1-1/2" squares from assorted patterned paper using the Square Maker. Adhere to Spiced Cider Cardstock as shown.

Layer pumpkins and corn husks stickers together as shown. Add Foam Squares to top of scarecrow sticker and adhere on top of corn husks.

Add clear title sticker on bottom of card over stickers. Add leaves to squares.

How to create:

Cut Spiced Cider Cardstock to measure 5-1/2" x 8-1/2".

Using Rotary Trimmer and scoring blade, score at 4-1/4". Fold card in half.

Cut Cactus Cardstock to measure 4" x 5-1/4". Adhere to front of card.

Cut orange patterned paper to measure 3-3/4" x 5". Adhere to top of Cactus Cardstock.

Cut edge piece of Decorative Cardstock to measure 3-3/4". Add to card as shown.

Cut strip of Brown Cardstock to measure 1/2" x 4". Adhere to top of Decorative Cardstock as shown.

Cut (to make this cut, use the inside of the large oval and the green blade) oval from Cement Cardstock. Add to card as shown using Foam Squares.

Cut (to make this cut, use the inside of the large oval and the blue blade) oval from brown cardstock.  Adhere to card as shown using Foam Squares.

Add Stickers as shown.

Add Swirly Brown ABC/123 Stickers for title.

Thanksgiving Project Idea of the Day-November 11, 2009

Here is a clever way to make inexpensive, yet classy napkin rings for your Thanksgiving table.

How to create:

Cut Espresso Cardstock to measure 1-1/8" x 6".

Cut a piece of Jewel Paper Ribbon to measure 6 inches in length.  Adhere to the cardstock strip. 

Adhere the ends together to make a circle.

Place either a paper or cloth napkin in the ring.
